3 featured speakers Kim Hardee, RHIT, CCS Kim is a Senior Associate in the Health Industries Advisory Practice of the PwC s Charlotte Office. She has 20 years of experience in healthcare as both a coder and consultant. She focuses on ICD-CM coding, DRG validation, case mix analysis, documentation improvement and illness severity and mortality risk profiling. In addition, she provides educational development and training for inpatient coding education and documentation integrity. She is an AHIMA ICD-10 Approved Trainer and participates in numerous ICD-10 assessments and education sessions as well as speaking engagements throughout the southeast. Carol A. Beehler, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE Carol is a manager in the Health Industries Advisory Practice of the PwC s Charlotte Office. She has over 35 years of industry experience in healthcare administration and operations in multiple facilities as a Vice President of Patient Care Services, COO of a Heart Hospital and CEO of a physician specialty practice. Her experience includes performance initiatives in disease management programs, care management, length of stay/utilization management, medical homes, clinical outcomes, documentation integrity, labor productivity, physician alignment, and regulatory compliance. She also focuses on process improvement in operations as well as case management/patient flow design, regulatory and compliance issues for health systems and long term care organizations. Carol has worked with several different clients in the regulatory area of documentation integrity and compliance review, utilization management, ICD-10 assessment/design, care management and throughput/patient flow initiatives as well as physician alignment and co-management programs.
