2 [2] The MOGADOC database is based on HTML and uses your standard web browser. Therefore, in order to run the retrieval program without problems, some fundamental settings are necessary. It is assumed, that Java is already installed on your computer. Internet Explorer TM (IE 7 IE11): Enable Pop-ups, Java TM, JavaScript, Active Content 1. Click on Tools or and then on the menu item Internet Options. 2. Choose the Privacy tab. If Turn On Pop-up Blocker is selected, click on the button Settings.

3 3. If the address (Inhouse-version of MOGADOC) or (onlineaccess of MOGADOC) does not appear in the Allowed sites field you have to enter it in the field Address of website to allow. Click Add and then Close. 4. In the Internet Options window choose the Security tab. Click on the button Custom Level. [3]

4 5. In the Settings list scroll down to the subject Scripting. In the entry Active Scripting you must choose Enable. The following warning you can answer by Yes. In the entry Scripting of Java applets choose Enable. Click OK. 6. In the Internet Options window choose the Advanced tab. 7. In the Settings list scroll down to the subject Security and mark Allow active content from CDs to run on My Computer and Allow active content to run in files on My Computer. 8. Restart your browser. 5 [5] Firefox TM (versions 3-37): Enable Pop-ups and JavaScript 1. Click on,, or Tools and then on the item Options. 2. Click on the Content icon. If you have an old Firefox version, and if the checkbox near Enable JavaScript is not checked, you have to check it (in newer Firefox versions there is no easy possibility to disable JavaScript). If Block pop-up windows is checked, click on the button Exceptions Firefox 3.6 Firefox 26.0

6 3. If the address (Inhouse-version of MOGADOC) or (onlineaccess of MOGADOC) does not appear in the field below, you have to enter it in the field Address of website, click Allow, and close the window. 4. Restart your browser. [6]

7 [7] Enable Java TM 1. Click on,, or Tools and then on the item Addons. 2. In the Add-ons Manager choose Plugins and find Java Platform. If you can t find Java Platform, Java TM is probably not installed on your computer. Note: Java 8 is not recognized by some older Firefox versions. 3. If the button on the right shows Never Activate, you should select Ask to activate or Always activate. 4. Restart your browser.

8 [8] Allow JavaScript to bring windows to the front (Firefox version 23 and higher) 1. Write about:config (without quotation marks) into the adress bar of the browser and press the Return key. 2. Then confirm the safety warning and scroll to the feature dom.disable_window_flip. 3. If the value of this feature is true you have to change it to false by double-click. 4. Restart your browser.

9 [9] Allow JavaScript to bring windows to the front (Firefox version 22 and lower) 1. Click on, or Tools and choose the menu item Options. Again choose Options and then the Content tab. 2. In the line of Enable JavaScript click on Advanced and check Raise or lower windows. 3. Restart your browser.

If Do not allow any site to show up (recommended) is selected, click on Manage exceptions Chrome If the address (Inhouse-version of MOGADOC) or (onlineaccess of MOGADOC) does not appear in the above field you have to enter it (in older Chrome version you have to click the Add button first), select or click Allow, and close the window. If Do not allow any site to run JavaScript is selected, click on Exceptions or Manage exceptions Chrome If the address (Inhouse-version of MOGADOC) or (onlineaccess of MOGADOC) does not appear in the above field you have to enter it, click Allow, and close all windows of Chrome. 7. 14 [14] Enable Java TM 1. If your Chrome version is 42 or later you must first enable npapi: Write chrome:flags/#enablenpapi (without quotation marks) into the search (address) field of the browser. Under the entry npapi click on Enable. Before: Afterwards: 2. Write about:plugins (without quotation marks) into the search (address) field of the browser. 3. Search for Java(TM) and look if Java is enabled (you would see the link Disable, or Always allowed would be checked). Chrome 7 Chrome If not, click on Enable. You may also check the Always allowed box to stop additional warnings when running Java TM content. 5. Restart your browser.

18 [18] 4. When under JavaScript the option Do not allow any site to show pop-ups (recommended) is selected, click on Manage exceptions 5. If the address (Inhouse-version of MOGADOC) or (onlineaccess of MOGADOC) does not appear in the above field you have to enter it, click Allow, and close the window.

19 [19] 6. Under Plug-ins click on Disable individual plug-ins 7. Search for Java. If Java is disabled (in that case you would see the button Enable), click on Enable. 8. Restart your browser.

20 [20] Safari TM (versions , Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) to OS X (Yosemite)): Enable Pop-ups, Java and JavaScript 1. Choose Preferences in the Safari menu, select Security, and uncheck Block pop-up windows. 2. Check (select) the Enable JavaScript check box. 3. Check (select) the Enable Java or the Allow Plug-ins check box. a. If you have Safari 7.04 or higher, click the Manage Website Settings button behind Allow Plug-ins. b. In the new window select Java on the left side and Ask, Allow, or Allow Always near When visiting other websites on the right side. c. Confirm by clicking Done. 21 [21] Proxy-Settings (inhouse version of MOGADOC) It is recommended to set up your preferences, that your browser always accesses the data in the Internet directly. However, if you access the Internet via a proxy server, then local addresses must be excluded. The PFS3000 application addresses the own computer via the IP address If you don t use a proxy server, you can ignore the following instructions. Firefox TM (versions 3-37): 1. Click on,, or Tools and then on the item Options. 2. Click on the Advanced icon and choose the Network tab. 3. Open the Settings dialog. If in the text field No Proxy for: no address localhost, is found, you have to enter it (without quotation marks). 4. Restart your browser. Internet Explorer TM (version 7 11): 1. Click on Tools or and then on the menu item Internet Options. 2. Choose the Connections tab. 3. Open the Settings (for Dial-up and VPN connections) or LAN Settings (for LAN connections) dialog. 4. Check the check box near Bypass proxy server for local addresses and click on the Advanced button. 5. If you don t see the address localhost, in the Exceptions list, you have to enter it (without quotation marks). 6. Restart your browser. Chrome TM (version 5 42): 1. Click on or and then on the menu item Options or Settings. 2. Click on Show Advanced Settings and click on the button Change proxy settings in the Network section. 3.
