1 AonLine System Requirements - Updated 8th June 2015 Introduction In order to be able to use AonLine in an optimal way and with all its available functionality, we require certain browser settings and software. The AonLine extranet site uses tables, frames, JavaScript, Secure Socket Layer protocol (SSL) and cookies. Using older browsers, non-compatible browsers or disabling browser features, such as JavaScript, cookies and SSL, may reduce site functionality. If you do not know how to verify if your computer has the following system requirements, we recommend you contact your IT department for this purpose. The FireFox browser can also be used for AonLine Documents/EOC but it may be necessary to enable Acrobat Reader and also ensure that FireFox is using the native reader rather than its own reader. 2 Other Browsers Safari/Chrome: the Drag & Drop applet is not available for these browsers. Apple ipad: The ipad supports the navigating and viewing of Pages, Folders and attachments within Documents/EOC, but not uploading of attachments; Pages and Folders themselves can be created or updated. For PDF viewing on an ipad, you must hold down the Download button until the Open in new tab option appears and then select this so that the entire document can be viewed. If you do not, only the first couple of pages will be viewable. For Android devices PDF's must be downloaded and opened locally. Reading PDF Documents Adobe Acrobat Reader version 10+ is required to view PDF documents and is available here If you have problems reading PDF documents when using FireFox see: Setting FireFox to Use the Acrobat Native Application Documents Drag & Drop Applies to Authors and above only With the introduction of increased security in Java it is now only possible to do one Drag & Drop per session when using Internet Explorer. You can do a refresh (F5) which will take you to the high level of Documents and re-navigate back to the required folder. At this time there is no fix for this. Alternatively a FireFox browser can be used for this function. Instructions can be found here A Java client is required, for Authors and above, when using the drag and drop functionality in the AonLine Documents area and can be downloaded here. We recommend that you always run the latest version of Java. Check to see if you have Java installed and which version (select here) Additionally it is now necessary to add AonLine as a trusted site to Java itself for both Internet Explorer and Firefox. Select here for instructions We highly recommend users remove all older versions of Java from your system. (select here for instructions)

3 Setting Java Security for AonLine 1. Select the Windows Icon 2. Select Control Panel 3. Select the Java Icon 4. Open the Security Tab 5. Select Edit Site List, add and select OK

4 Setting FireFox to Use the Acrobat Native Application Firefox has identified that Acrobat v9 is vulnerable and may have disabled it in your Firefox browser, it is now version 11x. If your Acrobat is out of date you can update it here Check Acrobat in Firefox 1. Open FireFox and drop down the Tools menu. Note: If you do not see the Tools menu press the Alt key. 2. Select the Add-ons link 3. Go to Plugins 4. Find the entry for Adobe Acrobat and check that your version is 11 or greater. Use the drop-down to select Always Activate 5. Close the Add-ons Manger Tab

5 Check that Firefox is using native Adobe Acrobat Reader 1. Open Firefox and go to Tools then Options 2. Select Applications 3. Scroll down to Portable Document Format ( there may be other PDF stuff before that in the list like Adobe Acrobat Document etc. so ignore those). When this is selected a drop-down is available. Use this to select "Use Adobe Reader" then OK

6 Using FireFox and Drag & Drop Applies to Authors and above only Since Java update 7u51 there are more stringent security requirements when using any Java application. This instruction page will walk you through the process to use Firefox and the Drag & Drop functionality in AonLine Documents. The Drag and Drop functionality is only available in Documents Folders. Instructions When you first enter a Folder you will see this text at the bottom of the Navigation panel. To use Drag & Drop click this text: You will see the Drag and Drop icon start to load: And get the following warning message, this is due to increased security in Java since update 7u51:

7 Select Continue and you will get a second warning. Tick the box as shown below and select Run: You will now get the Drag and Drop target zone as shown below: You can now drag files from your computer onto the target zone. At this time you will be asked to re-authenticate, this is your AonLine user name and password:

8 Fill in your user details and select OK. You will now get the following: Select continue and you will get a progress bar, when you file has uploaded select OK You will now be able to drag more files into AonLine Documents if required.

9 Set up the Java Plugin If you see the following when using Drag & Drop: Then the Java plugin is disabled. To enable it do the following: If you do not see this then you do not have Java installed. If you do have Java installed, drop down the Never Activate tab and either select Always Activate or Ask to Activate
