2 Overview Tellus Education Group are an experienced Work experience provider. Preparation for Working Life APT Award delivered by Tellus College, is designed to provide the participant with work experience and vocational training towards a Level 2 Award and 6 credits which are recognised by, and transferable across, the EU. The award and credits can potentially be used as a foundation to further qualifications. This award meets the objectives. Who is it for? In most vocational areas of study, the Tellus Award in Work Preparation offers a unique way for participants to develop their personal and career goals. The programme aims to help participants improve their vocational skills and knowledge whilst improving their existing language skills in a professional environment. They also enhance the participant's employment opportunities and increase their awareness of international business with the option of gaining practical work experience. The Preparation For Working Life Award Dependant on the student's ability, the course can be delivered in the following study programmes: Classroom only for those with a language level lower than B1, on the CEFR scale. Classroom and work experience (supported with tutorials) for those with B1 and higher. Completed in the work placement with work experience only (supported with tutorials) for those with B1 and higher. Outcomes Understand the workplace environment. Gain confidence in speaking and following instructions. Learn new skills.

What s Included in the programme Enrolment Fee Placement London 2 night excursion Free Wi-Fi and PC area available at the school Receptionist services and study room at the school Cafeteria and restaurant at the school, Guildhall building, Portsmouth 24 hour emergency helpline Work placement visit by a tutor within the first 2 weeks. Monitoring of the work placement Home Stay full board : 7 days a week, Twin room, linen and laundry Certificate of Language programme (for language course participants) Academic Report (for language course participants) Certificate of Work Experience - 6 Credits in EQF Certificate Ceremony Travel Pass Social Programme Welcome meeting on the first day (Monday morning) 8:30 Orientation walk on the first day (Monday afternoon) 13:30 International environment Social Evening every Tuesdays at the school 19:30 Wednesday Conversation Club every Wednesdays at the school 16:00 Thursday Cinema Night every Thursdays at the school 19:00

4 Audience years of age will complete period of vocational training with the option of unpaid work experience in a local company. Location UK: Plymouth and Portsmouth Plymouth Plymouth is a vibrant waterfront city, with many attractions and activities to enjoy. Set in some of England s most glorious countryside where the calm sea meets the busy city. Visitors also enjoy a lively shopping centre. The Plymouth school has many facilities including Wi-Fi, a student computer area, recreational games room with table football, air hockey, Table tennis, a big screen to show movies, a quiet room and study room. The School is located near the city centre in the busy area of Mutely Plain, an area containing a varied selection of cafes and shops. Portsmouth Portsmouth is a historic maritime city with lively city centre located close to London. Meridian school is located on the third floor of the prestigious Guildhall, which houses a concert hall, an art gallery and cafés, all located in the same building. The Guildhall is a culturally exciting building to learn in. School students also have access to the internet. 6 Weekly Timetable without General English Sunday Arrival in Plymouth Greeted by host family and a Tellus staff members. All participants will be issued welcome packs. Each participant will then be taken to the their host family. Monday Morning welcome meeting Meridian School Work placement information will be given to students: exact details of their work placement and how to get there, etc. Tour of Plymouth 1.5 hours Tuesday - Friday Work Placement* Weekends London Excursion week one Following weekends are free time for participants. Organised trips are arranged by the school and can be attended at an extra cost. * Work Placement Monday - Friday Work experience is from Monday to Friday depending on a work placement i.e. any placements in hospitality may require participants to work unsociable hours (weekends or evenings). Total number of hours will not exceed 37.5 (unless agreed otherwise).

8 London Excursion At the end of week one participants have a weekend 2 night excursion to London, including 2 nights staying in a central London hotel, sight seeing with a guide, shopping and River cruise. A fantastic way to enjoy England's Capital City this is a great way to make a work experience programme in the UK memorable. Friday Afternoon travel to London Arrival London Check into hotel Lunch Visit Oxford Street for shopping trip & dinner Back to Hotel Saturday Breakfast at Hotel Bus tour around central London and a trip on the London Eye Lunch Visit Madame Tussauds, Thames river cruise in the evening Dinner and back to the hotel Sunday Breakfast at hotel Guided walking tour of London, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham palace, St James Park, Leister Square, Trafalgar Square. Lunch Visit Victoria and Albert Museum Check out of hotel and depart London
