3 About Knowsley Community College Knowsley Community College is a grade 2 Further Education College operating from two campuses, Roby and Princess Drive, within the Knowsley Borough in Merseyside. The College currently has about 4000 student s enrolments each year and approximately 280 teaching and support staff. The range of courses extends from Pre-Entry, GCSEs, A Levels, Diplomas and NVQs to Higher Education and professional qualifications. The College also operates in the community and on employers premises as well as providing part-time and evening course provision. The College remains one of the largest providers of Apprenticeships in Merseyside, and through its Business Development team, responds proactively to the needs of employers across the region addressing the workforce development agenda. The College has extended the range of support available to adults who are unemployed and has established an innovative new service called WorkWorld operating from premises in Huyton and delivering specialist courses in conjunction with JobCentre Plus and local employers. To fully engage and support our students in the delivery of maths courses including GCSEs, Functional Skills and Level 3 Progression, to ensure learners reach their full potential. RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Faculty Section Manager OTHER RELATIONSHIPS: Course coordinators Personal Tutors Student Services Marketing team College staff and external stakeholders Students, Parents, Cares & External Agencies DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Devise a programme of learning (scheme of work) with appropriate teaching and learning strategies, resources and assessments. Maintain and enhance the quality of the students learning experience on the programme 2. Deliver outstanding, focussed and interesting lessons 3. Maintain attendance registers and update as required 4. Register students with awarding body as required 5. To rigorously monitor student s performance to ensure high success rates 6. To rigorously monitor student s attendance 7. Assignment preparation 8. Student assessment 9. Mark assignment to high standards 10. Record keeping and administration associated with course requirements 11. To contribute to the tutorial guidance and support process for students 12. Contribute to marketing activities, including liaison with outside organisations 13. Participate in guidance interviews, enrolment and induction for the programme 14. Support the curriculum Programme Leader by providing information necessary for College operations. Review performance of programme against set targets
