4 PAGE 4 4. PURPOSE: To manage projects within the Authority in order to ensure effective implementation of strategies. 1. PROJECT PLANNING Identify and solicit project resources in order to ensure that projects are effectively resourced. Develop the project initiation document in order to ensure that projects are carried out consistently and successfully in accordance with organisational strategies. Assign project activities to project resources in order to successfully implement project. Facilitate governance review of project planning documents for sign off. 2. PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION Lead individual projects to ensure delivery of projects within time and budget. Monitor project deliverables in order to ensure successful delivery of milestones. Proactively identify and manage project issues and risks in order to ensure that projects are successfully implemented. Manage project budget and scope in order to ensure that projects are delivered within time and budget. Manage project resources in order to ensure effective delivery of project milestones. Facilitate sign off of project milestones. Report on progress against project plans. Establish a culture of excellence through: o Performing and discussing, in line with performance management system, the performance appraisal on a quarterly basis. o Providing opportunities for divisional staff members to develop their competencies. o Coach Project staff on their performance and professional development when and where required. o Recommend the training based on identified needs of the Project team after the performance appraisal. Include the agreed training needs in the sectional Training and Developmental plan.

5 PAGE 5 3. PROJECT CONSULTANCY Provide project management mentorship and training to the LRA in order to ensure consistent implementation of projects. Provide project management expertise to projects. Provide inputs into the design of the project management methodology, standards and tools. Coordinate, collect, report and assist in the analysis of project information. Research, compile, and document feedback on the project management function. Participate in assisting project leaders in establishing planning policies, and preparing, implementing and monitoring plans. Determine priority areas of intervention in consultation with business units. Conduct readiness assessments; evaluate results and present findings and recommendations. Coordinate staff road shows to facilitate/ensure effective internal communication and staff engagement. Sensitize staff about emerging changes within the organization as a whole. Proactively look for the necessary/required change and make requests for researches where there is a need. Provide assistance and support for program planning and implementation for the organisation. Facilitate prioritization and selection of projects. Undertake program and project monitoring and evaluation. Disseminate information on program and project delivery to all stakeholders. Provide technical advice for program and project delivery to the organisation. Provide backstopping for project management activities. Compile business cases for projects Prepare appraisal reports to facilitate project selection. Monitor and evaluate individual projects

Develop and communicate progress on LRA projects to all staff Create a climate for change at project level and a conducive environment for a progressive partnership with key stakeholders by encouraging communication, present new methodologies and through road shows. Provide monthly and quarterly reports on implementation of initiatives for accountability and performance monitoring
