3 President s Message It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the qualifying rounds of the 2016 Tennis Europe Winter Cups by HEAD. This unique event is amongst the most coveted of prizes on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, with a total of 181 national teams having entered this edition of the competition across the three age categories. Two teams from this qualifying group will join the winners and finalists from the other three groups at the final rounds from February, where they will compete for the title of Tennis Europe Winter Cups by HEAD champion as well as for valuable Tennis Europe Junior Tour ranking points. The competition was first played in 1977, and retains its place as one of the most popular and enjoyable events organised by Tennis Europe. It is a great honour and achievement to represent your country in sport, and each year this is reflected in the quality of the players selected for the national teams. Indeed, many of today s top Davis and Fed Cup players represented their countries for the first time at the Winter Cups. The Tennis Europe Winter Cups are presented for a ninth successive year in association with our partner, HEAD, the world s leading tennis equipment manufacturer. I would like to thank them once again for their commitment to the competition, and to Tennis Europe in general. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the participating national tennis associations for supporting the event, and also the great many people involved at club level, the tournament organisers and officials who have played a role in the staging of the competition. Your generous support and hospitality are very much appreciated. Many thanks also to all of the sponsors and volunteers for their valuable contribution.
