2 What s NEW for 2016 The followig electroic formats will be available this year for readig ad writig: Kurzweil 3000 (versio 12), Kurzweil 1000 (versio 12), accessible Word (.doc), Word (.doc) optimized for text-to-speech software (e.g., for Premier, WordQ, Read ad Write Gold), HTML, PDF, accessible PDF ad MP3 audio. The followig electroic formats will be available this year for mathematics: Word (.doc), accessible Word (.doc), PDF, accessible PDF ad MP3 audio. EQAO will be offerig Braille i the followig versios: Eglish Braille America Editio (EBAE), Uified Eglish Braille (UEB) ad, for mathematics, Nemeth. This is the last year that EBAE ad Nemeth will be produced. Remiders For ease of use, the audio, Braille ad assistive-techology versios will ot be preseted as separate Readig Books ad Laguage Aswer booklets. Although studets will receive prited booklets i the ew layout, a PDF that will match the audio, Braille ad assistive-techology versios will be available for dowload from the secure site at 9:00 a.m., three days prior to the begiig of the admiistratio period. All resposes will eed to be stapled to the iside frot cover of the appropriate aswer booklet ad retured i the Special Versios evelope. (Although the layout of the prited booklets may differ from the layout of the electroic versio, the cotet is the same). The dowload of assistive-techology versios i alterative formats from the secure sectio of EQAO s Web site ca be completed at the school or board level. All provisios outlied i the admiistratio ad accommodatio guides must be adhered to whether the studet is takig the assessmet i a paper or a electroic format. No istructioal materials, icludig electroic istructioal applicatios, that facilitate resposes to uestios ca be used. EQAO assessmet materials set to schools for admiistratio should ot be copied or altered i ay way for ay reaso. Prior to the assessmets, you ca use the assessmet materials o EQAO s Web site to help studets with the format of the assessmets ad the types of uestios asked. The use of cellphoes, audio- or video-recordig devices, digital music players or or text-messagig devices durig the assessmets is ot permitted. Their use may result i o score beig provided. Studets are NOT permitted to use persoal electroic devices such as laptops ad tablets for the EQAO assessmets. The assistive techology ad MP3 audio files will be available for dowload three days prior to the begiig of the admiistratio period. 4 Assessmet Procedures at a Glace Follow the specific policies ad procedures for accommodatios outlied i the Guide for Accommodatios, Special Provisios ad Exemptios, ad record the accommodatios i the SDC system.
