2 MANAGERIAL EFFECTIVENESS This program is based on the book by Prof. T V Rao titled Managers who make a Difference (IIM-Ahmedabad Books) As envisaged in this book manager s fall into different categories: Doers Achievers Visionaries & Missionaries. One can grow from one stage to another. Growing to make a difference requires an understanding of self and insights into the qualities required to make a difference. KEY PROGRAM OBJECTIVES The program aims at developing a high sense of efficacy, role effectiveness, life planning through time planning, interpersonal competence, team effectiveness, leadership styles, values and vision through self-study, review, reflection and action planning. The program aims at providing an opportunity to the participants to learn and enhance their managerial effectiveness from one level to the next higher level and emerge more successful in life. THIS PROGRAM IS IDEALLY SUITED FOR: Managers, Entrepreneurs and Administrators. Students, Teachers, Bankers and Insurance Agents. Doctors, Nurses, NGO s and Trustees of organizations.

Leadership styles & Impact Level 2: Skill Practice: The program will focus on assessing and enhancing Achievement Motivation, Personal effectiveness, role effectiveness, Interpersonal and Team effectiveness and planning for future. Each participant is expected to walk back with a personal plan to be a higher level of manager than hitherto and plan time as well as talent along with activities for future. The workshop will end with life goals exercise integrating all lessons learnt. The contact program is filled with assessment of self on the above variables, sharing, examining one s life styles and preparing for the future. There will be reflections of the tools taken and new tools to measure Motivational profiles (achievement, power, affiliation, extension etc.) and MBTI like dimensions. Note: Those who can t attend the contact program will need to interact with faculty and take the exercises online. Level 3: Application (Voluntary): In this level the participant will apply all s/he learnt by maintaining diary and preparing a plan for enhancing the effectiveness of select members of his/her team at work place. There is scope for other application areas as suitable to the candidate and sponsoring organization.
