HR Entrepreneur Programme Helping HR teams achieve greater success by becoming more entrepreneurial consultancy
Contemporary HR practitioners require a complex mix of technical, commercial and interpersonal skills. Contrary to the popular picture of HR as an obstacle or implementer of complex processes, the new HR Entrepreneur is seen as someone hiring managers want to work with: a adviser and who can simplify the recruitment process and look after the organisation s wider interests at the same time. How we can help you The is a approach to developing the relevant technical and interpersonal skills in a joined-up way. The goal is to develop practitioners who are recognised as technical s, confident in managing challenging stakeholders, with a clear and up-to-date understanding of the talent management environment and the industry in which they work. This includes best practice in talent assessment, professional stakeholder management, sensitivity to the market and the contemporary challenges facing the organisation and how these have the potential to impact talent management on a tactical and strategic basis. Our will help you to: know how to make a positive impact and manage your senior stakeholders deploy strategic thinking, entrepreneurial attitude, adaptability, achievement-orientation and the ability to translate needs into solutions for your organisation ensure you understand the value you can add to your clients avoid the because that s how it s done attitude and ensure stakeholders understand the full value that you can bring to the organisation. Our approach The programme is modular, and bespoke to your requirements. As such, you can choose from a selection of modules to best meet the development needs of your HR team. We begin with participants completing our personality and competency-based 360 feedback questionnaires, which helps accurately capture a baseline of key behaviours. Each participant then has a one-to-one development needs analysis session with one of our consultants. You can then choose from the technical and professional skills modules on the next page. Each programme ends with a repeat of the 360 feedback process to help measure success and individual and group level examination of competence acquisition and behavioural change. This can then inform a more detailed return on investment (ROI) calculation. A final one-to-one session with one of our consultants also enables participants to understand how they have developed and identify tangible next steps on their ongoing development journey. 1
Technical skills professional bespoke modular technical These modules represent the core technical capabilities expected of HR practitioners in selection and development contexts. Accredited training in psychometric assessment participants learn how to effectively implement the use of ability tests and personality assessment for selection and development activities. Advanced objective assessment participants gain a deeper understanding of how assessment works and how they can be combined to design accurate, cost-effective and assessment solutions. Employment law delivered by legal s, participants receive up-to-date and detailed information on employment law so they can best support their own organisation and advise clients. Interviewing skills aimed at increasing confidence and competence in conducting formal interviews, participants learn best practice techniques for interviewing in a range of contexts. Design and management of assessment centres participants learn the skills and domain knowledge to effectively design assessment centres, select assessment methods and gather performance data to effectively inform talent management decisions. Assessor skills participants are given clarity on the role of the assessor, the importance of objectivity and key skills in observation and evaluation of candidate performance in assessment contexts. Design and deployment of 360 feedback participants are taught how to design and conduct a 360 process, including management of stakeholders, communications to participants, interpretation of survey results and feedback, as well as how to manage Talent Q s MultiView 360 feedback system. Professional skills These modules focus on the interpersonal and professional skills required by the contemporary HR Entrepreneur. Influencing and negotiation skills participants learn the methods and techniques to identify and effectively negotiate with stakeholders in an ethical and productive way. Effective delegation skills participants receive personal insight into their preferred approaches to delegation, an understanding of how best to delegate to colleagues with diverse working styles and ensure acceptance, buy-in and successful outcomes. Time, attention and productivity participants learn how to develop a personal productivity system to effectively manage their finite recourses - time and attention so they assign both to what is truly important. 2
Being an HR Entrepreneur in financial services We have also developed two modules that cover the theory and practice of the contemporary financial services industry; aimed at supporting the HR practitioner in building their credibility and industry knowledge in this sector. Fundamentals of banking participants receive an introduction to the core concepts of banking and how the industry has evolved over time, including how banks operate and the essentials of the financial services marketplace. CONSULTANCY Contemporary strategic issues in banking participants learn about more advanced aspects of the industry, including recent developments in regulation and markets, and how the financial crisis has impacted both banks and their customers. ASSESSMENT TRAINING The Talent Q difference We include a built-in evaluation of the programme, using objective methods and performance measures where available. Using our assessments at the outset to build individual insight, participants undertake the modules with a better understanding of their own strengths and development needs. Assessments can be mapped against your organisation s existing competencies. Investment in individual development needs analysis activity is supported by group level analysis of data and feedback. We emphasise both skill attainment and rounded development at the individual level and we have the skills and experience to support both. With our team of experienced psychologists and industry s, you can be confident that we will deliver the best end result. We work in partnership with clients and have a refreshingly different can-do approach. Delivering value to our clients We take pride in the fact that our innovative and friendly approach has resulted in long lasting client relationships. We have worked with clients such as Lloyds Banking Group and VTB Capital to deliver the. 3
Case study: 12F Up-skilling the recruitment function at Lloyds Banking Group Lloyds Banking Group s Wholesale & Commercial division has run a bespoke development programme to improve the technical skills of its recruitment team and to help them embrace change and work more proactively with hiring managers and senior stakeholders. We designed the nine-day programme around the needs of the participants, incorporating our assessments as pre and post measures of behavioural change. The programme featured five modules which equipped the participants with best practice knowledge and skills. The development programme not only reinvigorated our team and made them more effective, it raised the bar by recalibrating what it means to be a professional recruiter in our division. Importantly, it instilled in people a real desire for further development and these outcomes have not gone unnoticed internally. The team at Talent Q quickly won our trust and they impressed us with their ise and their service.
