2 INTRODUCTION BUS SERVICES LTD Holding Ltd., formerly known as Rose-Hill Transport Ltd., started its operations in 1952 and is currently listed on the secondary market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius. The Group employs 400 people and has an asset base in excess of USD 22 M. ( BS) is the flagship of the Group. The company operates on 12 public routes and carries 30,000 passengers daily. BS is recognised as an industry leader having introduced new concepts such as the first fleet of air conditioned buses, cashless payment, WiFi on the bus and recently the concept of Chef on the Bus (meal on the go) and the Smartline which involves a Mobile App for bus tracking. It is the policy of the company to renew its fleet every 10 years. As per the current legislations, a bus can operate 16 years with an extension of 2 additional years. The average age of the fleet is around 5 years and all buses are equipped with Euro II or higher performance engines which are much more environmentally friendly than the Euro 0 engines. New buses will be equipped with Euro IV engines as from July The Driver Training Academy will be launched in March 2016 in collaboration with Automobile Association. The company is an IS0 9001certified company and has the distinction of being the only bus company in Mauritius to meet this standard. Full maintenance leasing Working with a number of financial institutions, Callisto fleet solutions is able to provide you cost effective off balance sheet financing. Callisto fleet solutions also assists in the selection of the asset, its management includes monitoring of tyres, fuel efficiency and periodic maintenance. Through its sister company mychauffeur, specialized drivers can be provided. Driver monitoring Through the use of telematics and the association with its sister concern, ICL, all driving parameters such as over revving, harsh braking and cornering are assessed. Effective monitoring results in a lesser number of accidents and a better fuel efficiency. Fuel monitoring Fuel ranks second in the cost of running a fleet after labour charges. The company has a sizeable portfolio of investment in equity (quoted and unquoted), ETFs and Forex. The company normally invests in projects that are of strategic importance to the Group. The company has exited investments in Radio One. Besides investing in the equity of the start up, VL is an active manager bringing its expertise and supporting its portfolio companies through its extensive network in Mauritius. The next project in the pipeline for Properties is a multi-purpose building at the 3,500 m 2 prime land at Gordon Street, Rose Hill, which comprises of 20+ apartments, offices, wellness and spa, gyms, healthcare facilities, and a kindergarten among others.
