1 BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY Established by Parliament by notification no. 225 of 1916 Varanasi APPOINTMENT OF THE ARCHITECTURAL FIRM Banaras Hindu University wishes to appoint an Architect firm for design of its new campus of Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science at R.G.S.C., Barkachha, Mirzapur.The interested firms who have designed similar large campuses/institutional buildings comprising of lecture theatres, laboratories, auditorium, Teaching staff, Gymnasium, Animal house, seed processing and mixing Plants, hostels etc. costing Rs. 100 crores or more may apply for obtaining the desired details from office of the Superintending Engineer. The applications so received will be evaluated preliminarily on technical criteria basis viz. fulfillment of above given qualifying requirements, experience, turnover etc. Short listed firms will be provided the design details, site plan and requirements based on which they will have to prepare the designs. The final selection shall be based on presentation, technical & financial bids of proposals of the said project. Applications can be made to the Superintending Engineer, University Works Department, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi within 30 days from the date of advertisement. The selected firm may be engaged for architectural design of additional buildings in the University if desired. Further details can be seen on the following pages. 3 BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY VARANSI Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at RGSC, Barkachha, Mirzapur NOTICE Technical and Financial Proposals are invited from the Architects/ Consultants shortlisted on the basis of their EOI presentations made on 17 September 2012 at the Central Office of Banaras Hindu University. Submissions should be in two sealed covers namely Technical Proposal and Financial Proposal latest by at 3:00P.M. Technical Proposal will be opened on at 4.00 P.M. Presentation of Technical Proposal by the concerned Architects/ Design Consultants is scheduled on at 10:00 A.M. After completion of Technical Presentations, all the technical deviations will be informed to the Architects/ Consultants on so that deviations can be levelled off and if necessary, financial bid can be submitted latest by at 01:00 P.M. The financial proposals will be opened on at 03:00 P.M. The outcome of the selection of the Architect /Design Consultant will be intimated later after approval of the competent authority. The proposals may accompany EMD of Rs Lakh in the form of Bank Draft in favour of the Registrar, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi The proposals will be opened in the office of the Director, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University in the presence of architectural consultants or their authorized representatives who may be present. 4 The Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Barkachha, BHU The Rajiv Gandhi South Campus sprawling over an area of 2700 acres is being developed with a vision to develop, it as a potential hub for education, training and entrepreneurship development for youth and women especially those belonging to weaker sections of the society. Academic Zone Building: The course like MCA, M.Sc. (Tech) in Environmental Science and Technology, B.Com, PG Diploma in insurance and Risk Management, Naturotherapy & Yoga Therapy and Hospital Management session have been commenced. Infrastructure: The infrastructure established to connect the major source of water in Barkcahha Kalan Village to Rajiv Gandhi South Campus. In situ moisture conservation & run off management techniques are being super imposed on cultivable land. About 800 acres farm land cleared and developed for cultivation. Seed production of pulses, oil seeds and cereals are being produced. For soil conservation & maintaining the ground water table at different places of natural terrain check dams are being constructed. Academic Zone Buildings: The Faculty of veterinary and animal science would be developed phase wise viz. Phase-I, Phase-II & Phase-III In the Phase-I Lecture hall, Department Laboratories, Conference Hall, Examination Hall, Hostel, Library, Canteen, Gyan Musium (indoor + out door sports), office rooms for staff & general, Academic ( Admission and Examination) Accounts& Establishment sections.
