You can follow this link to training.gov or contact us her at CCWT Can I use some or all of my Diploma of Management towards obtaining the new Diploma of Leadership and Management? Yes, many of your units can simply transfer to the new Diploma. There may be some small upgrades needed depending on the units that you have already. If all your units are equivalent to the new Diploma you will need to complete 4 extra units. You must complete the core units listed below. What are the core units? 4 What are the electives? Listed in this application pack are the electives that we offer. Can I have my current skills and knowledge recognised? Yes, you can elect to undertake Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for one or more units. If you think that you already have the skills for the unit, consult with the Course Coordinator. RPL can be done either by portfolio or by workshop.. If you are considering the RPL pathway, we believe that you will need at least 2 years experience in a management role. Are there any prerequisites? There are no prerequisites for this Diploma however on enrolment we will send you a LLN (Language, Literacy, Numeracy) Self Assessment Tool that will assist us to identify any support you may require How much does it cost? The cost of the upgrade depends on the units that you choose. See page 16 to calculate the cost of your Diploma. These fees cover all workshops or distance options, learning materials and support services. Part payment is generally required before commencing the course. of other Pathways The cost of the Recognition of Prior Learning Portfolio is $2400 for the entire qualification or $220 per unit. If you choose to do your Diploma by RPL workshop, the cost will be $2400/$2300 MEMBERS or the RPL Upgrade is $995. Managers and leaders can develop the quality of teamwork, bring together the range of capabilities in the team, and promote collaborative problem solving. This workshop provides a framework for you to identify current strengths and to plan for areas of teamwork that need development. This workshop program is based on Australian and international management studies into the leadership skills we require to establish effective teamwork. Develop work plans and the systems needed to monitor work, provide feedback and coaching to staff, to initiate and manage performance support and improvement systems. This workshop is particularly useful for managers of small teams or organisations that do not have trained human resource staff. 9 Gillian Brannigan Debriefing Skills July 29 - Sydney November 18 - Sydney The stress of client work can be alleviated by a supportive workplace that implements support processes to manage stress and emotional wellbeing of staff. In particular, staff should have access to debriefing after incidents. This workshop covers the processes of debriefing and stress management, and looks at the types of organisational processes that will ensure adequate support is provided. The course consists of a 1-day workshop accompanied by distance and online options. CHCCS505B Provide supervision support to community sector workers ( Elective unit from another Training Package) This unit may be subject to change. Please check our website for details. Participants will have the opportunity to explore: supervision models and practices techniques to identify staff needs types of internal and external support available to staff Individual workshop training and assessment cost: $425/$405 MEMBERS You as Manager Distance kit This course applies to managers and focuses on the need for managers to be organised, focused and skilled, in order to effectively manage the work of others. As such it is an important topic for most managers, particularly as managers serve as role models and have a significant influence on the work culture and patterns of behaviour. 10 Recruit, Select and Induct Staff Distance Kit Successful recruitment and induction of staff is essential for the organisation s short term needs and long term development. We need to find people who are the most suitable for the job as the results of ineffective recruitment can be additional financial expense, disrupted workplaces and stressed staff. This distance package provides an overview of the roles and responsibilities of managers in risk management in general, with a focus on Work Health and Safety in particular, by looking at relevant legislation, common practices, record keeping and the importance of consultation and teamwork. 11 Manage Budgets and Finances Distance Kit If the words 'budget', 'debt recovery' and 'cash flow' bring fear into your heart this package is for you. It covers the whole of the financial management process, including setting financial goals, planning a budget, working with staff to effectively implement and monitor the budget and reporting financial information. The theory is well supported by practical activities. BSBFIM501 Manage budgets and financial plans ( Group A) understand the purpose and terminology of budgeting and financial management understand basic accounting principles involved in budgeting, cash flows, financial statements, accrual accounting concepts and electronic spreadsheets understand how cost management plans are developed Distance Kit with assessment: $300/$280 MEMBERS Continuous Improvement Distance Kit A continuous improvement or quality management system is essential to ensure that our teams and organisations stay on track with quality service delivery, even when workloads are demanding. Identify tools and techniques that you can use to monitor and review your team or organisation s performance, identify areas of improvement, and initiate new strategies to improve quality. BSBMGT516 Facilitate continuous improvement ( Group A) gain a knowledge of continuous improvement systems and processes identify consultation and communication techniques, including reporting and recommendation processes identify strategies to ensure that team members are actively encouraged and supported to participate in decision making responsibilities and to assume responsibility, as appropriate. 12 Workforce Planning Distance kit Often staff recruitment is a reaction to an existing person leaving, or a response to an identified short term need. In contrast, workforce planning addresses the longer term staffing needs of an organisation, taking into account the skills and knowledge that will be required to meet the changing workplace. This course includes the theory and principles of workforce planning as well as the practical strategies needed to apply this in your workplace. BSBHRM513 Manage workforce planning ( Group B) Learn about the theories and principles of workforce planning, including the impact of government policy. Identify appropriate information sources for determining workforce priorities. Develop a plan that includes relevant research and specific strategies to ensure access to a skilled and diverse workforce. Distance kit with assessment $300/$280 MEMBERS Promoting a Diverse Workforce Distance kit Diversity in a workplace doesn t just happen. It needs to be planned for and promoted. This course covers underpinning concepts of diversity and provides strategies and processes for promoting and supporting a diverse workforce. BSBLDR504 Implement diversity in the workplace ( GroupA) Identify techniques to scope workforce diversity. Establish policies and procedures to integrate diversity into workforce operations. 13 Utilising Learning Strategies to Improve Outcomes Distance kit Managers have to balance the need for ensuring staff have the skills to achieve organisation or team goals, with the reality of limited resources and time. In this course you will identify strategies for learning that you can implement in your team, and consider how to make the best use of external training. The strengths and weaknesses of different learning delivery methods will also be outlined. BSBLED501 Develop a workplace learning ( Group B) Identify and analyse a range of different types of learning activities Learn how to review and plan for development needs of individuals and teams Discuss how the management of relationships can achieve a learning outcome. Distance kit with assessment $300/$280 MEMBERS Cogs and Wheels: Knowledge Management Systems Distance kit Knowledge management systems are the engine room of your organisation but not well understood. As a manager or team leader it is important to set up processes and systems to capture, use, distil and discard information from internal and external sources. What to use and what to lose is important for the long term sustainability of the organisation. BSBINM501 Manage an information or knowledge management system ( Group B) Learn about the features of an effective knowledge management system. Understand the benefit of managing knowledge effectively in an organisation. Develop a plan for implementing a new knowledge management system including staff capability. 14 Managing a Quality Assurance program Distance kit Compliance with standards is a common requirement in organisations today. However, a quality assurance program can also add value to the services that you provide to clients and make a difference between a reputation for being good and one for being excellent. This course guides you through the process, from identifying the required standard of service to reviewing the results of strategies and making adjustments. BSBMGT521 Plan, implement and review a quality assurance program (Group B) Connect with knowledge management in an understandable and practical way. Learn about the principles and theories that underpin quality assurance programs. Develop effective review procedures. 17 Terms and Conditions By lodging this Application Form, you are agreeing to CCWT s Terms and Conditions. Course Attendance Unless completing the distance education options, it is essential to attend all workshops for the full duration. If you would like to change your preferences for distance or face to face delivery, please do so 10 days before the commencement of the workshop. You may elect to complete some units of competency by Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Please make your choice carefully before you enrol. RPL attracts lower fees, so a combination of RPL and workshops can be more cost effective, but refunds will not be given to participants who choose the RPL process for some units after they have registered for the complete Diploma. For further information on RPL please visit the CCWT website: or phone the Learning and Development Coordinator. What does my course fee cover? Course fees include: Course attendance or distance resources (where available); Handouts; Support provided by the Learning and Development Coordinator; Tea/coffee and biscuits and lunch at workshops; Assessment services if more than two attempts are needed an additional fee of $50 per unit will apply; Issue of Certificate of Attendance; and Relevant certification, that is, Statement of Attainment, or Diploma. It is important that assessment tasks are submitted by the due date given by the trainer/assessor, or that you apply for an extension. Generally there is no problem with gaining an extension but it is essential to request one. You can request an extension by contacting the Learning and Development Coordinator or faxing in a completed Extension Request Form (found in your Student Handbook). If completed assessment tasks are not received within six months from the completion of the workshop, and an extension has not been arranged, a further fee of $50 per unit will be charged. This fee must be paid when you lodge late assessment tasks. Course fees remain valid until 5 th October After this date, 2017 course fees will apply. Receipts Please note that invoices and receipts are only issued on request. Refunds Once your registration is processed we will refund 75% of the course fees provided that you notify us in writing two weeks before the commencement of your first workshop. Course fees are not refundable after the first workshop that you attend, except in the case of illness or misadventure as stated below. A pro-rata refund will be considered if a medical certificate is provided in the event of an illness or misadventure. Any requests for refunds or changes to your enrolment or attendance preferences must be made in writing. Centre for Community Welfare Training 2016 Page 17

18 If you register for a nominated workshop and do not attend, you will need to register in that workshop for the following year and will incur an additional charge based on the current CCWT Handbook fees. Course Cancellations/Postponements CCWT does all it can to ensure that courses run in accordance with the course schedule, however CCWT also reserves the right to alter any arrangements, including course cancellations. In the event of a course cancellation, CCWT will negotiate a mutually satisfying arrangement. This may include registration into the same workshop at a different time, registration into a similar workshop, completion of distance packages, and/or personal support from a CCWT trainer/assessor. If CCWT is unable to provide the required training and assessment to complete the qualification, you will receive a refund of all unused registration fees, and assistance sourcing a vacancy in a similar qualification elsewhere. Travelling s In the event of a workshop postponement or cancellation, CCWT is not responsible for travel costs that may be incurred. If a workshop is postponed or cancelled, CCWT will make reasonable efforts to contact you within seven days of the scheduled date. It is advisable that before booking travel you phone CCWT seven days prior to the workshop.
