20 Examinations and grading system Exam period in the winter semester 2013/14: 8 February 8 March 2014 Your final grades will be released in your TUMonline account by 30 April 2014 at the latest Grading system: 1.0 (best grade) to 5.0 (4.1 to 5.0 = fail) TUM grades and corresponding ECTS grades: 1,0 to 1,5 Grade A excellent 1,6 to 2,0 Grade B very good 2,1 to 3,0 Grade C good 3,1 to 3,5 Grade D satisfactory 3,6 to 4,0 Grade E sufficient 4,1 to 5,0 Grade F fail Failed courses officially do not count as attended courses and therefore are not certified in the transcript Rules for the conversion of TUM grades to your home university s grades will be provided by your home university 22

22 Transcript of Records / Certificates we provide a blank transcript from via mail Jan - Feb Feb - March you edit the transcript form and send it back to us via mail we create and send a preliminary version of your transcript Mar - Apr early May we complete your transcript and send it Note: Failed courses officially do not count as attended courses and therefore are not certified in the transcript Confirmation of study hours: 1 SWS = 1.5 ECTS (TUM SOM only!) 1 SWS = 45 minutes 1 ECTS = 30 minutes * 15 weeks = 450 minutes = 7.5 contact hours in class 1 ECTS = 30 working hours per semester (including assignments, exams etc.) 24

Guided tour through Munich focus on economy & commerce today at 2.30 p.m. Get to know Munich closer by taking part in our professional guided tour which focuses on commerce in Munich. We will visit the Viktualienmarkt which is Munich s most famous market and learn more about other companies with a long tradition in Munich. Guided tour through the brewery of Weihenstephan 29 October 2013 The bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan, founded in the year 1040, is the world s oldest brewing place still existing. Get to know the brewery and take part in a beertasting session at the end of the tour. International students welcome & orientation meeting summer semester
