2 Munich Business School Exchange and Study Abroad Programs Each year, Munich Business School (MBS) welcomes over 100 international students on campus hailing from all corners of the world. Countries include Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Luxemburg, Sweden, Slovenia, Russia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Ukraine, Hungary, Argentina, Brazil, India, Mexico, Columbia, Pakistan, China, Thailand, Canada, U.K., the USA and many more. students, we also welcome qualified free movers to apply to our programs. Students have the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at the undergraduate or graduate level. Depending on students level of study and language proficiency, they can select from five different programs. While the majority of visiting students come from our partner universities, for one or two semesters as exchange I like the small class size and the individual attention students get. 3 European Business Semester (EBS) This advanced business program is for students in their 2nd or 3rd year of bachelor study. Classes are especially designed to cover topics which are interesting to foreign students with a focus on Germany and Europe. Visiting students are partly integrated with local students. German Business Semester (GBS) The German Business Semester is a special semester program for international students with advanced German knowledge. Classes are designed to cover topics with a focus on Germany and Europe. The entire program is taught in German. Courses: Export Project Germany Today Communication & Human Resources Management German Culture and Society Business in Germany Finance Business to Business Marketing Introduction to Internships The quality of the EBS Program is amazing. 4 Munich Business School Integrated Studies at Bachelor or Master Level Visiting business students will have the opportunity to study, fully integrated, in the bachelor or master of international business program. Depending on their language proficiency and/or interest, students can enroll in a variety of courses taught in English or in German. 5 Excursions & Cultural Visits MBS offers a variety of extracurricular activities throughout the semester including visits to museums, cultural sites, castles as well as city tours within Germany or neighboring countries. During the past semesters, students visited castles like Neuschwanstein, Herrenchiemsee and Nymphenburg. City visits included trips to Nuremberg, Regensburg and Salzburg. General Information If you re coming to MBS from another country, there are a few essentials you ll need to take care of. And while these responsibilities will be yours to deal with, we re here to point you in the right direction and provide help when you need it. VISA German law requires non-eu nationals to apply for a Student Visa (Visum für Studienzwecke). As visa requirements differ for each country, you have to contact the German Embassy in your country to obtain correct information. health insurance All students must have health insurance for their studies in Germany and either submit proof of acceptable health insurance from their country or purchase health insurance in Germany. housing While MBS does not have on-campus housing, it provides students with information on how to obtain off-campus housing. Accepted students will receive the MBS housing guide. Students should find housing prior to their arrival at Munich Business School. COST OF LIVING We estimate that your living costs will be around 1150 per month. Your budget will mostly depend on how you manage your free time (e.g. travelling, eating out, opera, concerts, using sports facilities, visiting museums and clubs). Student Support Services international center The staff supports students prior and during their stay in Munich. ORIENTATION DAYS This 2- day event helps students getting settled in Munich as well as at MBS. It covers important topics such as registration, health insurance, transportation, visa issues etc. GERMAN INTENSIVE LANGUAGE COURSE Students with no prior German language knowledge can participate in this 2-week German intensive course which is conducted prior to the fall semester. INTERNATIONAL BUDDY program This program connects new international students with current MBS students before and during their studies in Germany. Buddies help the international students to integrate and settle into their new environment and to make them feel at home. It was a wonderful experience. Living in Munich is really nice and we did a lot of travelling in Bavaria and to other countries. Everyone was great! 6 Munich Business School Admission Requirements For successful admission to an exchange or study program at MBS, all applicants must submit: online application form for international students (check Application) Transcripts from your university Proof of English proficiency via TOEFL/ IELTS scores or letter from English professor (see program pages for appropriate level) Proof of German Proficiency: Level B2 for the German Business Semester and Level C1 for integrated studies in German Copy of valid passport Resumé in English One recent passport photo (JPG format) Dates & Deadlines Fall Semester Program dates: early September to mid-december Application deadline: June 1 Orientation days: late August German Intensive Language course: mid-august SPRING Semester Program dates: mid-january to mid-may Application deadline: October 1 Orientation days: mid-january Semester program dates include exam periods which take place during the last two weeks of each semester. Exact dates can be found on our website. Tuition Exchange Students pay to their home university. The 2014 tuition for Study Abroad students (free movers) is EUR 5,100 per semester for undergraduate level (EBS, GBS, and integrated bachelor) and EUR 5,250 for master-level studies. Applicants with a cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 (B+) can apply for a partial scholarship which reduces tuition by 20%.
