2 The aim of the OIS and ISC? An open-minded student with: experience(s) responsible and self-confident in dealing with challenges, differences, administrative & practical matters having great memories, friends all around the world motivated in further learning, getting to know more and, of course, happy 2

3 How to achieve that? Like the job Make students feel comfortable in the administrative matters no stress (but responsibility) so that they can enjoy the sunny side of the Erasmus exchange (see the ISC presentation) Keep them informed: All information + what is going on Accurately Understandable, plain In advance, in time Keeping an evidence of simply anything Remind, remind, remind We are friends, not evil officers :) = trust Patience - smile, patience - smile, patience - strict 3

4 How to survive that? Be aware of the real aim of the Erasmus programme (open-minded citizens) and the coordinator s role (help, support, be example) Remind students regularly their own responsiblity Detailed (but plain) instructions, guidelines, website & info materials, where they can find anything = both sides no stress Athmosphere and friends in the office Coffee, chocolate, fun 4

6 Administration before arrival Official nomination not required Informative + Info Sheet to all nominated or interested Info Sheet contains a link to our website with all details & steps Online application in our ISOIS database obligatory deadlines on 15 July, 15 November Printed and signed application & learning agreement required (preferably by post) (Language requirements level B2, but no certificates required) When the l. a. is approved and signed by the departmental coordinator: Scanned l. a. - sent as a pdf to the student and to all coordinators mentioned in the application. (Upon request by fax or post as well.) An acceptance letters issued and sent by post to the student. After the deadline: Students profiles created in the IS (Information System) - Logins and passwords sent to all students by post, together with guidelines on an online course registration and a detailed academic calendar (some terms might vary at faculties). Lists of students sent to the halls of residence, Dpt. of Czech for Foreigners, ISC - Bulk with instructions on chosing the room (online), accommodation deposit payment and orientation week payment (online) 6
