2 GEO ExPro - About GEO ExPro is an interdisciplinary magazine and online publication designed to explain and clarify geoscience and technology for everybody involved in the exploration and production of oil and gas resources. GEO ExPro is at the forefront of digital journalism for the E & P industry. In 2012 we launched our ipad app in order to provide a platform for showcasing interactive material to enhance our readers experience. Our Web App is the next step in this process, in order to make our interactive content offering available to a wider audience through our website. GEO ExPro The Next Generation The GEO ExPro Web App was built with a native next generation advertising platform, which offers our advertisers the opportunity to have engaging interactive ads optimized for a wide range of devices, with ease of implementation built into the system. Furthermore, it gives the option to target advertising, so that readers have their experience enhanced with ads that provide contextually relevant and insightful information. The GEO ExPro Web App will allow users to access rich media articles on almost any device using the browser. The site is designed to offer easy access to our latest news and to our extensive archive, which will provide a great resource for users to be kept abreast of the latest happenings and to learn more about a wide range of relevant topics.
3 Editorial Focus As in GEO ExPro Magazine, articles posted on the GEO Expro Web App will reflect the wide range of topics and issues which are of interest to the upstream geoscience community, from frontier exploration and emerging technologies to geotourism and the history of petroleum. In addition, each month the spotlight will be thrown on a different topic or industry speciality, with a number of the posted articles covering that subject. Topics: Launch (January & February): The Arctic March: Seismic Technology April: Africa May: Unconventional Resources Following months tbc GeoExPro always welcomes contributions from our readers. To discuss suggestions or ideas suitable for inclusion as interactive articles for the Web App, please contact the Digital Editor. Description of Interactive Adverts The Web App includes advertising that is integrated into the browsing and reading process of the reader. They are placed on the homepage, within the listing of articles and within articles themselves. They can include a wide range of interactivity and will resize according to the device the reader is using. In order to facilitate a simple and efficient process for the creation and implementation of advertising, GEO ExPro offers two approaches for generating adverts. Template Ads We have created a range of templates to make the ad creation process as straightforward as possible. In order to use a template you simply send the assets required and they are automatically placed within the template. We then send a proof which you can test and approve. Examples of ad templates available include: Videos Interactive Maps Interactive Info-graphics Custom Ads Data Examples 3D Data Models Slideshows Should you wish to create a custom ad for the platform, GEO ExPro can facilitate this. We can provide guidance for in-house creative teams and agencies as to the specifications for the desired ad. Our suggested workflow is to send our digital project development manager a brief outline of what you would like to present in the ad and we will suggest the most efficient solution. Deadlines Material for ads will be required 2 weeks prior to upload date.
