Typical measurements related t these KPIs include Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Capacity Utilizatin, Thrughput Rati, Scrap & Yield Rati, Inventry Turns, Inventry Value, Delivery Perfrmance (DIFOT) and Prcurement Cst. 6 Hw QAD reduces implementatin time and cst Operatins Dashbards Yu d nt have t set up all f the Business Intelligence Metrics fr Operatins frm scratch. QAD prvides three standard dashbards: Capacity Planning and Cntrl Prductin Lines: mnitrs factry perfrmance, as measured by Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Thrughput Rati by site Inventry Management: tracks key metrics including inventry turns, inventry investment, and average days n hand by prduct line and site Purchasing: lks at supplier n time in full (OTIF) delivery perfrmance, cash requirements, and pen purchase rders, as well as identifying the tp items and tp suppliers by spend Each f these dashbards includes a number f graphs, charts and reprts that present perfrmance in this area. 7 Hw QAD supprts imprvement initiatives Overall Operating Effectiveness (OEE) T becme an Effective Enterprise, it is imprtant that yu define the best practices fr yur business prcesses, and measure the efficiency f each business prcess. Fr example, ne f the Manufacturing Efficiency metrics is Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) a measure f prductin perfrmance ften used t measure the success f imprvement initiatives like Lean and Ttal Prductive Maintenance (TPM). Yu calculate OEE by multiplying Availability, Perfrmance and Quality. Business Intelligence tracks each f these categries autmatically and calculates OEE fr each f yur prductin resurces. Here yu see OEE statistics fr five manufacturing sites, clr-cded by site, helping yu cmpare perfrmance between sites, and with best in class - defined as peratins with 85% r higher OEE. As yu can see here, nt all f yur sites have an acceptable OEE and sme sites shw a decline in OEE frm ne perid t the next. Dem 1. Yu will use these t select the data yu want t see n the graph selecting the dmain, type f reprt and reprting perid. The Business Intelligence Data Warehuse cllects infrmatin frm acrss yur extended glbal enterprise, aggregating data frm multiple business units using a mix f applicatins. Each f these business units is assciated with a Dmain. In this example, Dmain represents the peratin in each cuntry. Yu can shw OEE statistics in the US, Canada, Mexic and s n. Yu can als chse the type f graph weekly r mnthly and chse ne r mre weeks r mnths t display. Select the secnd mnth and lk at the OEE statistics fr each site by week. Dem 1. Click Dmain drp-dwn 2. 9 Hw QAD supprts rt cause analysis Drill-Dwn When yu see ptential issues, QAD helps yu identify rt cause. Fr example, n this graph, yu can see that site was perating very effectively fr the first tw weeks f the mnth but after that OEE declined significantly. Drill dwn t the details behind that week. If yu recall, OEE is equal t Availability times Perfrmance times Quality. Yu can see that bth the Availability and Quality ratis remain high, but the Perfrmance rati has fallen significantly. Perfrmance measures hw efficiently a machine is running, taking int accunt any factrs that cause a prcess t perate at less than the maximum pssible speed machine wear, substandard materials, misfeeds, peratr inefficiency. 10 Transactin Details Business Intelligence maintains all f the peratins transactin details that g int each f these calculatins. This allws yu t drill-dwn int as much detail as yu need in rder t discver the rt cause fr the decreased perfrmance. Just click any underlined field t drill dwn int mre details. This chart shws the data that went int calculating the Perfrmance rati standard and actual run hurs. Remember that Perfrmance measures hw prductively the time is being used n this prductin resurce. Since setup is unprductive time, it is nt included in this analysis. It is nly included n this chart fr reference purpses. Srting this chart by prductin line and date, yu can immediately see the prductin line and dates when perfrmance declined. Ntice here that actual run time exceeded standard run time by several hurs. In this case, when yu click a prductin line, yu get a graph that visually cmpares perfrmance in each week. Click any f the bars t get a chart shwing the details, and click any f the numbers t drill-dwn t the specific peratin transactin histry. Yu can use this reprt here, r dwnlad it t Excel fr further manipulatin. Ntice the transactin numbers. These identify the transactins that generated the standard run time data used in the perfrmance calculatin in this case, backflush transactins. Pressing this will take yu back ne screen at a time, r yu can skip directly t any screen just by selecting it frm the drp-dwn. Using Business Intelligence Metrics, yu can easily navigate frm a graphical view f aggregate perfrmance measurements, dwn t the individual measurements and the detailed data behind them. Dem 1. QAD Business Intelligence includes a variety f pre-defined reprts. Yu can use the Reprt Designer t mdify any f these reprts r add thers specific t yur peratins. Dem 1. 15 Hw QAD reduces inventry cst Inventry Management Dashbard Additinal dashbards in the Operatins area fcus n specific areas such as Inventry Management and Purchasing. The Inventry Management Dashbard tracks critical perfrmance metrics fr each f yur sites, tracking inventry turns and average days n hand as well as ttal inventry investment. These metrics help yu measure perfrmance and quickly identify prblem areas, helping yu make decisins that supprt cst imprvements acrss yur business. Similar t the ther dashbard, yu can drill int mre detail. Fr example, yu may wnder why the ultrasund-manufacturing grup has such a large inventry. Multiple levels f drill-dwn shw yu purchased materials inventry is quite high, and the exact items and n hand value. Frm there yu have everything yu need t investigate and reslve the issue. Dem 1. Fr example, the General Manager will want t mnitr a variety f metrics in this case lking at inventry turns, equipment effectiveness (OEE) and custmer delivery perfrmance (DIFOT). Yu can set up any number f dashbards, including existing metrics r additinal nes that yu develp. Dials like the DIFOT% - tell yu at a glance if yu are perating within predefined acceptable range. Other metrics, such as this ne fr the Prductin Supervisr, are clr-cded t fcus attentin. As lng as the dials are green, peratins are functining nrmally.
