2 Foreword Over the last 15 years Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT) has developed into the world s leading provider of basic and further training for employees and managers in the maintenance, repair and overhaul and aerospace industry. During this time LTT has continuously employed the strategy of cooperation rather than competition. We have found a strong partner in Hainan Airlines (HNA). This cooperation enables us to offer qualified Training Courses located on the HNA Base in Haikou, Hainan. We are proud to provide with Lufthansa Technical Training China (LTTC) a modern training centre in China now. Knowing the culture and the specific needs of people in the Asian region after many years of operational experience for Asian customers, we can offer a pleasant stay, in accordance to the Asian life style. Due to the centralized location at Meilan International Airport, it is just a day trip for managers to visit their staff and audit the training. Shorter travel time, reduced travel expenses and a well-balanced relation between price and service are examples of the multitude of benefits for Airlines as well as Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul organizations (MRO s) to qualify their personnel with LTTC. A splitting of a full EASA Part-66 course into the individual modules is possible and allows our customers a flexible human resource planning, depending on their needs in aircraft maintenance. We are able to offer training in Chinese - in addition to our standard practice of teaching in English to solve misunderstandings more easily. LTTC provides all necessary facilities, equipment and tools as well as skilled and experienced instructors for supporting classroom, teaching with practical hands-on training, which we know is essentially needed in the Asian region. This ensures that our trainees will transfer their knowledge into practice, to gain the competence required for safe and reliable maintenance work. 3 Lufthansa Technical Training China About Lufthansa Technical Training China Lufthansa Technical Training China (LTTC) was founded in 2007 to establish a professional and approved Aviation Maintenance Training facility in Haikou, Hainan, PR China. Two experienced partners have combined their expertise and capabilities to establish this training center - Lufthansa Technical Training, a global key player in training for all personnel in MRO organisations, and Hainan Airline Co., Ltd (HNA), one of the biggest airlines in China. The Founders Lufthansa Technical Training Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT) is a full-range training provider for all technical and non-technical personnel and managers in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and aerospace industry. Maintaining a close link to the parent company, Lufthansa Technik, LTT is an established independent and dynamic company within the Lufthansa Technik Group with more than 440 employees - trainers, experts and staff personnel as well as over fifty years of experience and accumulated know-how in aircraft maintenance. Hainan Airlines Hainan Airlines Co., Ltd was established in 1993 and its Maintenance and Engineering Department (HNA MED) has ever since developed into a well-known Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Organisation (MRO) with approximately 1,500 employees, which maintain more than 126 aircraft of Hainan Airline Group, the parent company of HNA. HNA MED has six main bases in Haikou, Beijing, Tianjin, Xi an, Taiyuan and Shanghai as well as 15 subsidiary bases all over China. The maintenance capability includes Line and Base Maintenance, Component Repair, Calibration and Special Maintenance for nearly all Airbus and Boeing aircraft. With a wide-body bay and a narrow-body bay hangar with a size of 10,000 sqm and three component repair shops (avionic & electric, mechanic and wheels & brakes) with a size of 2,800 sqm, HNA MED is perfectly equipped. For this reason the cooperation makes it possible for us to offer not only a theoretical background, but a state-of- art practical training environment as well. A Successful Start By October 2007, the first group of 200 university students recruited by HNA will graduate from LTTC after their basic skills training per CAAC requirement and work for HNA as a new generation of maintenance staff. By June 2008, another group of 100 students will have completed their Cat. A training per EASA standard and become a new work force of HNA MED as this will be the first time HNA will receive new maintenance staff who have completed full Cat. A training per EASA 147 requirement. The demand for such training is growing tremendously although the capacity of LTTC has been fully loaded since its establishment. Next steps will be the development of training activities in the field of advanced and management training. The Approval The JAR-147 approval was granted to Lufthansa Technical Training in the beginning of This meant that Lufthansa Technical Training became the first school in Europe to be approved under the new EASA Part-147 regulation. In Autumn 2007 Lufthansa Technical Training China will have its audit to get this approval and allow their graduates to join the EASA Part-66 CAT A license examination upon completion of their course. Furthermore Lufthansa Technical Training China applied for the CAAC Approval for Practical Skill Training.

4 The Training We want to establish a unique training program in Haikou. Our training shall be approved under local CAAC, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA former European JAA) regulations, offering students a wide range of job opportunities after their graduation from our training center. We have built all the training facilities needed to provide an international training environment of the highest standard, including training aircraft. Several training shops, including ME and AV will allow learning by doing. A large percentage of the training is hands-on to allow the students to develop the practical skills necessary for high standard maintenance work. The classroom training is supported by various training aids, models, simulations and computer based training units which were developed by Lufthansa Technical Training and are now used by many other airlines as well. Instructors for aircraft related subjects are all licensed. Teachers for general subjects have an excellent educational back-ground to ensure the best teaching quality. The Facilities Right from the start both partners agreed to build a modern training operation dedicated to aviation. In spring 2007 the construction was started on the HNA Base, close to Meilan International Airport in Haikou, Hainan to take advantage of optimal training conditions with direct access to aircraft of Hainan Airlines and its maintenance facilities. The project was completed in summer 2007 and the center started its operation on the 30th July. 5 The Training The Methods Theoretical Training To ensure optimised training, we use different media to present the subject knowledge to students. The guideline for classroom teaching is based on the LTT coursewares, which contain all the knowledge required by Chinese CAAC.As a supplement to the students study, additional training books from Lufthansa Technical Training are used to introduce the concept of modern jet aircraft to fulfil the EASA Part-66 CAT A requirements. The training is supported by computer based training programmes. One of those is JAMF (Jet Aircraft Maintenance Fundamentals) which was developed by Lufthansa Technical Training. A large number of videos, simulations and models are also used by the teachers in their classroom training to make it easier for the students to grasp the complex aircraft systems. Practical Training Practical training sessions in the workshops and on the aircraft, as well as exercises and demonstrations after classroom sessions, help students transfer their theoretical knowledge into practice and enable them to develop the necessary practical skills. Aircraft Training supports students in learning how to perform an engine operation or practicing their skills on a commercial aircraft and, last but not least, understanding the necessary knowledge of aircraft maintenance. Engine Training helps students to reach a better understanding of the technology and how a turbine engine works. Aircraft System Training is carried out on JAMF CBT, which are available for every aircraft system and on Y7 airplanes, providing all the functions of a twin engine aircraft electrical power or fuel system. Avionics System Training is done at avionics workshops and modern avionics test equipment. Sheet Metal and Composite Repair Training gives the airlines the flexibility to use their new staff in a wide range of areas over the entire range of maintenance.

6 The Range of Products Basic Training according to EASA Part-66 and CCAR-147/FAR-147 We provide optimum practical preparation for the maintenance of aircraft by future specialists. Our basic training is a prerequisite for acquiring the Aircraft Maintenance Basic Licence (AMBL). It corresponds to the specifications of EASA Part-66 and covers all modules required for CAT A in the ratings for airplanes and turbine engines. Any of the modules can be combined to create customised training units. On request, we adapt your training to the specific demands of your company within the framework of official requirements. To help our customers to comply with the recent changes and deadlines for staff qualification in accordance with EASA Part-66 and EASA Part-145 regulations we can perform a staff qualification assessment within your company and develop a qualification programme to meet your demands in the shortest time and at the lowest cost. This programme will allow your staff to join the different EASA Part-66 examinations after receiving the necessary upgrade training.
