Joachim Limberg Stuart Wilkins Travelling by air will grow at rates that exceed the economic growth rates of most countries around the globe and will drive demand for the manufacture of new aircraft to unprecedented levels. ThyssenKrupp Services AG, Germany, is expanding its aerospace materials services activities by acquiring a 100-percent stake in the Apollo Metals Group, which includes Aviation Metals Ltd. Allthough subject to the approval of regulatory authorities we anticipate that the transaction will be completed before the end of this year. The acquisition will combine Apollo s largely European and Far Eastern operations with ThyssenKrupp Services activities in Europe, South America and a strong position in the USA. The new global enterprise will operate from 30 locations in thirteen countries. Apollo s CEO Stuart Wilkins is appointed President of the new division, which will be called ThyssenKrupp Aerospace, headquartered in UK. The new business recognises the increasing international nature of the aerospace supply chain and creates the first global service provider able to offer products and services on a world-wide basis whilst tailoring local processing and delivery services to meet the needs of each customer individually. The expansion of the aerospace business has a great strategic significance for us. Our existing supply chain management solutions have already provided us with a strong position in the aerospace industry but this acquisition both increases our global reach and provides the basis for creating an unequalled capability. 3 Why are we joining forces? Why do it at all? To be a significant player we have to be positioned to react to the new global dynamics of the aerospace supply chain. In joining forces we have the opportunity to create the most competent and cost effective service provider in the World, thereby ensuring we become our customers' supplier of choice. We want to create an organisation with the dynamism and skills to fulfill our customers rapidly changing needs and at the same time provide career opportunities for employees. Finally we need to create an organisation with the scale and financial strength to invest in the future. Why Apollo and ThyssenKrupp? ThyssenKrupp is a leader in the USA with installations in South America, the UK (following the recent acquisition of the Alcoa Aerospace Group) and Western Europe. Apollo is a leader in the UK, Europe and Asia, and as a result we fit together well and will start moving forward on day one. We are immediately able to offer a genuinely global service. The new company creates a unique business with dedicated local service centres across North and South America, Europe and Asia. The combined organisations have a similar service oriented culture. The combined organisations have specialist skills and processes which we believe can be brought together to create the benchmark in service provision for the industry. We will seek out existing best practices and share them in the early stages of the newly created organisation. The combined organisations are key partners to the world's largest aerospace and defence companies such as Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Embraer, Dassault and their suppliers. We believe that we can do better together than separately really can equal 5! ThyssenKrupp Aerospace will also work closely with other ThyssenKrupp companies, e.g., producers of titanium and nickel alloys, manufacturers of components as well as complete production plant systems and also providers of industrial services.

4 The benefits we intend to deliver! Prices and costs We will deliver the most cost and price competitive service available worldwide. Service Comprehensive tailored service solutions will be designed with customers on a one to one basis. Multi national contract demand will be aggregated globally but day to day service will meet the needs of local companies and be supplied from locally based service centres. We will live the maxim Think Global Act Local. Typical on time delivery performance targets will exceed 99%. Responsiveness Same day service will be available from our local service centres. Quality All sites are already ISO 9100 or EN 9120 approved and deliver over 99.5% right first time. Availability The combination of the two companies brings together a very wide stock range of US and European specification materials, and we have strong working relationships with the world s leading metal producers. We will have a unique ability to fulfil the scheduled and unscheduled requirements of our customers. Growth With the backing of the $70bn ThyssenKrupp Group we will be able to align our investment strategy with the changing needs of our customers. A Local Service with a Global name! In order to demonstrate that we have changed and are the only service provider in the world that offers a truly global service we have decided to start with a new name ThyssenKrupp Aerospace. This will be officially launched in 2008 at a date which will be announced in the new year. The Organisational Structure During 2008 the existing aerospace service businesses of ThyssenKrupp, Apollo and Aviation Metals will be integrated to form ThyssenKrupp Aerospace. By aligning all of the aerospace activity on a global basis we will have a very keenly focussed and orchestrated business serving one of the largest and fastest growing industries in the world. There are relatively few areas of overlap between the aerospace businesses of the two partners. However, where there is overlap, for example, in France, Germany and Benelux, we will jointly decide in the first 100 days the best organisational structure in order to maximise our opportunities for business growth.

5 The first 100 days. When will all this happen? A lot is available on day one, but obviously we need everyone to be involved in delivering the full benefits. To do this we will shortly issue a 100-day plan of specific actions and who is responsible for each element. This will explain in detail what you can expect to happen and when. This will be reported against on a monthly basis so that you can see clearly what progress has been made and what still remains to be achieved.
