2 Programs for Children Baby Bounce A pre-literacy program that encourages parents to sing songs and rhymes to their babies. For parents with 0 to 18 month old children. Sessions run for 30 minutes. Deer Park: Thursdays, 10.30am Keilor Village: Tuesdays, 2pm Wednesdays, 10.30am Thursdays, 10.30am Thursdays, 10.30am Toddler Storytime Weekly sessions for children aged 18 to 36 months. Toddler Storytime stimulates language development in a fun environment. Sessions start at 10.30am and run for 30 minutes. Deer Park: Mondays Thursdays Fridays Wednesdays Preschool Storytime Weekly sessions for children aged three to five years. Each 30 minute session includes stories, songs and rhymes. Join in the fun and make coming to Storytime part of your weekly routine. All sessions start at 10.30am. Deer Park: Wednesdays and Fridays Keilor Village: Wednesdays Mondays Mondays and Wednesdays Mondays and Fridays Learn English Through Storytime A special storytime for parents and children to practise English through stories, songs and rhymes. Sessions start at 10.30am and run for 30 minutes. Fridays

3 Saturday Storytime A weekend storytime session for children to enjoy stories, songs and rhymes together. Sessions start at 10.30am and run for 30 minutes. Every Saturday From Saturday 18 April - Saturday 20 June Bedtime Storytime Preschool aged children can come in their pyjamas and bring along a favourite soft toy to enjoy stories, songs and rhymes. Sessions start at 6.30pm and run for 30 minutes. First Thursday of the month 7 May, 4 June First Wednesday of the month 6 May, 3 June Bilingual Storytime Stories, songs and rhymes for parents and children up to five years in Mandarin/English and Vietnamese/English. 4 School Holiday Programs Fun events for five to 13-year-olds are held at Brimbank Libraries during school holidays. There is no charge but bookings are essential as places are limited. Program information is generally available four weeks before the end of school term. After School Games Clubs Come along and join in the after school fun with games, craft and other activities. Challenge your friends and new players with board and other fun games. For five to 12-year-olds. Clubs start at 4pm and run for one hour. Deer Park: Gamesters! Mondays Keilor Village: Keilor Kids Thursdays Friday Activity Zone Fridays Children s Corner Thursdays Game On! Mondays & Krafty Kids Thursdays Lego Club A weekly Lego Club for seven to 12-year-olds. Children can build and display their finished works in the library. Lego supplied. Deer Park: Tuesdays, 4-5pm Tuesdays, 4-5pm Saturdays, 2-3pm Saturdays, am Children s Book Club Enjoy fun book related activities. Suitable for primary school aged children. Last Wednesday of the month, pm 29 April, 27 May, 24 June Drop In Resume Help Open to anyone who needs basic advice and helpful tips on how to present their resume. Bring in your current resume for formatting tips, assistance with saving it to disk for future editing, adding it as an attachment to an or uploading it to a job seeking website. 5 Programs for Youth Playstation and Wii Sunshine and Deer Park libraries have Playstation 3 and Wiis, and Sydenham Library has a Wii. Use your library card to book a half hour to play games in the library. Tournaments are held during school holidays. Study Support for Young People The library provides a range of facilities, resources and services for students including: Computer and Internet access at no charge (bookings are essential) WiFi Internet access at no charge and with no time limit Study areas VCE reference and for loan text book collections Access to online encyclopaedias, newspapers, journal articles and learning English Friendly staff to help you find the information you need VCE Study Revision sessions with experienced tutors are held throughout the year. 6 Programs for Adults Practise Your English Weekly sessions for adults who speak English as a second language. Come along and practise your conversation and listening skills in a relaxed environment. Deer Park: Wednesdays, 1-2pm Wednesdays, pm Fridays, 1-2pm Mondays, 6-7pm Conversation Club Come along and talk about the issues of the day or your favourite hobby. It s a great way to meet people who enjoy stimulating conversation on a range of topics. Morning tea is provided. A basic understanding of how to use a computer is required. 10 Computer Classes All students receive a manual to take home. The cost for each class is $10 or $5 for concession. Bookings and payment must be made in person prior to attending class. You can book at any Brimbank library. Please note that 48 hours notice is required for cancellations and rescheduling, and 7 days notice is required for refunds. Basic Classes Our basic classes are ideal if you have no prior experience with computers. Classes run for two hours with hands-on activities. Basic Computer Skills For absolute beginners. Learn how to use the mouse and keyboard, how to create and save documents and how to use Windows.
