RESIDENTS RIGHTS The Right to Have Your Personal and Medical Records Treated as Confidential. Your written consent is needed to release information from your records to anyone who is not authorized by law to see it. The Right to Manage Your Own Personal Finances. You can either manage your own funds or authorize someone else to manage them for you. If you authorize the Nursing and Rehab Center to handle your funds, you have the RIGHT to: Know where your funds are and the account number. Receive a written accounting every 3 months. Receive a receipt for any funds spent. Have access to your funds within 7 banking days. DEPT. OF HEALTH INFORMATION Just a reminder that the Department of Health has a toll free grievance and complaint hotline accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The number is Nursing Homes are required to make this number available to residents, their guardians and family members. The number must also be posted in public areas of the Nursing and Rehab center.

4 ATTENTION SKILLED CARE RESIDENTS The Activities Department has an exciting announcement! There is now a computer station set up in the 2A Sun Porch for your use! It s available to surf the internet, set up an account or Skype with out of town friends and family. Please see an activities staff member if you would like assistance using the new computer. FROM THE LIBRARY Have you been down to visit our library lately? There have been some significant changes in both content and availability of books. First, we need more shelf space in the face of new books being added to our collection, Therefore, books on both the FICTION and the MYSTERY categories have been pulled to remove those titles of little or no recent use. At the same time, note that the MYSTERY titles have expanded to an additional shelf above the fireplace. Second, the OVERSIZED books, formerly over the fireplace, were bending their shelf and so have been scattered on the uppermost shelves over each stack of regular print bookshelves. They are sorted approximately according to the subjects beneath, but their individual titles can easily be identified. Never hesitate to ask anyone around to reach one for you! Do drop in and re-discover your cozy library with its everexpanding inventory for your reading pleasure!
