2 The Host My UK TV Service from the Esix Group Service Overview The Host My UK TV service from the Esix Group provides Internet hosting for a dedicated UK free to air TV receiver, housed in our UK data centres. The receiver can be accessed remotely, on any device using a standard web browser, from almost anywhere in the world. The service is designed people who travel regularly, or who have holiday homes outside the UK, and need a portable, fast and reliable UK TV solution. Because the hosted receiver is housed in the UK, and receives the TV signal in the UK, there is no need for a satellite dish, VPN, or set top box. The service is therefore not affected by any changes to the UK satellite network. 2

3 Accessing the Hosted Receiver Each customer is allocated a dedicated free to air receiver. This receiver can be accessed using a standard web browser. In general we recommend the Google Chrome browser, as this provides the fastest and most reliable browser environment. Because the receiver can be accessed using a web browser, it can be accessed on a PC, Mac, ipad, Tablet, Smartphone or Android TV dongle. Unlike IPTV set top boxes that require a decoder connected to a single TV, our hosted receivers do not require any set top boxes, and can be accessed using a wide variety of devices. This allows each customer to take their TV wherever they go. The hosted receivers can also be accessed over a 3G Internet connection. 3

4 How the Service Works Our engineers install a UK digital free to air receiver, which is physically located in one of our UK hosting centres. This receiver is dedicated to each customer, and is not shared by anyone else. The receiver works in the same way as installing a normal Freeview set top box at home. The receiver has a built in web server that can be accessed via the Internet using a standard web browser. The receiver is controlled by a built in web browser interface, that allows you to change the channels, download the latest Electronic Programme Guide, and also record programmes so you can watch them later. Turn your TV into an Internet Enabled TV Most customers will want to watch TV on their large screen TVs. However connecting a tablet or PC to their TV via an HDMI cable is often impractical. The receiver has a built in web server that can be accessed via the Internet using a standard web browser This TV dongle turns a TV into an Internet enabled TV and media centre. The built in browser is used to access the hosted receiver, and the emedia Centre app can be used to stream downloaded movies, music or photos from a computer or network disk drive connected the network. Combining a hosted receiver, with our Android TV Media Centre solution, therefore provides an ideal Smart multimedia TV solution. Our resellers can supply an Android 4.2 based HDMI dongle, which is preconfigured to use the service. This TV dongle uses the same operating system as many tablets, and provides the same functionality. 4

5 Acceptable Use Policy Hosted TV not IPTV We take our obligations very seriously. We DO NOT provide any kind of IPTV rebroadcasting service. We provide a hosting service for a dedicated web enabled digital TV receiver. This allows frequent travellers and holiday home owners to access their receiver on any web enabled device, wherever they travel. Under UK and European law it is only legal to remotely access a dedicated TV receiver, if you hold a valid UK TV license. For this reason, each customer must have a UK registered PayPal account, and must agree that they hold a valid TV license at that address.
