2 ABOUT THE EVENT The Exchange is a series of events that will answer the most requested needs of our members; to directly connect them with partners who can make a difference in their business. Set up as meet and greet, speed dating styled events, Exchanges will be hosted by three Master Electricians Australia brands: 1 The Electricians Digital Business Kit 2 Women in Contracting (WiC) 3 Apprentice Club Defined by these brands, Exchange events give our members opportunities to build meaningful connections to help develop their business. 2

3 DBK The Electrician s Digital Business Kit is a free service that delivers essential resources for those in the electrical industry who are keen to take advantage of the digital economy. The website connects electricians with how-to guides, free templates and ebooks, and real-life case studies that show small and medium sized businesses how easy it is to use digital tools. Studies show that businesses in this industry know the importance of digital tools, but often have trouble implementing them. The Exchange will fill that knowledge gap by connecting business owners with service providers. Website designers and developers, search engine optimisation agencies, digital marketing agencies, and ecommerce and job management software providers will come together to show business owners how their services can make a business more productive and efficient. 3

4 WOMEN IN CONTRACTING WIC In 2015, Master Electricians Australia s Women in Contracting (WiC) initiative is being revamped to better deliver the needs of women in the electrical industry. We re creating conversations that will help increase the profile of the many women who in the industry, by providing them with opportunities to build their personal and professional networks. Women in Contracting Exchange events will take this one step further, by encouraging attendees to connect, learn and leverage from specialised experts at each event. Experts will facilitate this by connecting attendees with the tools they need to further develop their skills. 4

5 APPRENTICE CLUB Master Electricians Australia (MEA) is heavily involved in the functional aspects of engaging apprentices within the electrical contracting industry. Through the Master Electricians ApprenticeConnect program, MEA has helped hundreds of businesses manage their apprentice requirements, however, a gap exists in the broader apprentice experience that MEA is looking to fill. Enter Apprentice Club. Partnering with HPM Legrand as MEA s exclusive apprentice sponsor across the business, the Apprentice Club will provide a single national strategy to engage and support apprentices to ensure they are profession-ready. The Apprentice Club will provide members with access to cutting edge products such as yours, through Exchange events across Australia, mentoring opportunities through the Master Electricians Alumni, and a platform to stand out from the crowd through profiling and branding. 5

6 HOW YOU CAN BE INVOLVED Exchange events will be held throughout Australia, with round one taking place in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth. Quite frankly, you need to be involved! Throughout the day, we will host individual events for the Electrician s Digital Business Kit, Women in Contracting and Apprentice Club, and you can be present at each and every one of them. Entry level involvement sets you up as the subject matter expert we know you are. As one of our Experts, you ll receive a place at the table and make connections with the many business operators in attendance. You can bring small marketing pieces such as flyers, your tablet or laptop and plenty of business card. From there, you re encouraged to work the room as we circulate food and drinks, and take a seat for planned networking opportunities.
