2 Introduction Welcome to this guide for professionals, which aims to give information and guidance about local and national organisations and their services. This guide has been designed as a reference tool to help professionals refer/signpost their clients to the most appropriate agency. Confidentiality All the agencies in this booklet provide a confidential service. Confidentiality is not passing on information without the clients knowledge or agreement. It should only be necessary to break confidentiality if someone s safety is at great risk. 3 Adult Services commissioned by Norfolk County Council on behalf of Norfolk Drug & Alcohol Partnership The Matrix Project The Matrix Project bring vital services to sex workers across Norfolk either via their open access day service or their mobile unit. This unit works up to 4 nights a week in the red light district of Norwich and local premises, providing confidential advice, support, information and services in an environment which clients are used to. 4 Norfolk Recovery Partnership (NRP) NRP provide advice and treatment for adults with drug and alcohol problems across Norfolk. They offer a range of services from expert advice through to full confidential assessment, leading on to a comprehensive range of treatments to meet needs. Service users aged 18 years old and above can drop in at any time to one of their five bases across Norfolk and talk to a member of staff or access their needle exchange services. If they want, they can be assessed straight away. NRP also include an integrated network working across the criminal justice system including probation and prisons. Please note that to self-refer, people must be registered with a GP practice in Norfolk. Self-referral Options Option 1: Send an to the address above including name, telephone, GP, and a convenient time to be called between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Option 2: Phone Call between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday (calls charged at a local rate from mobiles and landlines). 6 The Matthew Project Under18 service This is a multi-agency team of drug and alcohol workers providing universal, targeted and specialist interventions for young people aged under 18 years across Norfolk. The team also provide advice and support to parents and carers, and young people whose family use substances. A non-specialist substance misuse professional completes a CAF, identifying needs requiring a multiagency response including substance misuse needs and invite the service to a multi-agency meeting with the aim of creating a team around the child. OR 2. A non-specialist substance misuse professional identifies substance misuse related needs and makes a referral to the service by ringing. Questions will be asked of the referring agency to establish the most appropriate way forward. It is expected that a basic level of information relating to the young persons drug and/or alcohol related needs will be provided by the referrer. An agreed referral checklist will be used by all substance misuse workers to: Collect the basic level of drug and/or alcohol information required; Assess if a CAF is in existence / needed when a referral is made SID is a tool to support professionals in identifying young people s substance misuse needs. 8 Hebron Trust Hebron Trust provide a residential abstinent-based treatment service for women aged 18 and over with serious drug and alcohol problems. They also provide an abstinent aftercare structured service in the community. Admission is dependent on interview and funding. Please telephone for application form. It provides support to those involved in sex work and offers opportunities for change. It has a Christian ethos, which welcomes people of all faiths and none. Their projects include: The ROSE Campaign aims to highlight the issues of sexual exploitation in young people and women by working in a multi-agency way to develop systems and strategies to prevent and tackle this. The Jigsaw Programme works with schools in Norfolk to help young people stay safe online by helping pupils, parents and professionals to identify the potential signs of abuse. Narcotics Anonymous Helpline: (24 hrs) Run self-help groups for people who are recovering addicts to meet and help each other to stay clean. NHS Direct Helpline: (24 hrs) Offer a confidential nurse advice and health information service.
