1 On this site you can find the instruction to configure the wireless network "eduroam". Before setting up the network make sure that you have a tubit account. Step 1: Start by downloading the certificate. Then select the certificate and execute it. Step 2: Then you will be asked to save the certificate. Do so. Step 3: After that the description may be changed. Keep the description "ca" and confirm by clicking "OK". Seite -1-

2 Step 4: To choose where to use the certificate (Zertifikatsverwendung) check all three possible options and and confirm your choice. Now the certificate will be saved. Step 5: Open the menu and choose "System" Seite -2-

3 Step 6: Go to "prefereces" ("Einstellungen") and click it. tutorial: eduroam on Symbian Step 7: Then choose "Connections" ("Verbindungen"). Seite -3-

4 Step 8: A list should appear on which you have to select "access points" ("Zugangspunkte"). Every access point setup on your device so far should be listed now. Step 9: Now choose "options" ("Optionen") und confirm to create a "new access point" ("Neuer Zugangspunkt"). Seite -4-

5 Step 10: Now open "connection name" ("Verbindungsname"), enter "Eduroam" and confirm by clicking "OK". Step 11: Select and open "storage device" ("Datenträger"). Choose "Wireless LAN". Seite -5-

6 Step 12: Then select the wireless network name ("WLAN-Netzname"). Choose to search a name, "Namensuche". A window should open displaying the currently accessible networks. Select "eduroam". Step 13: Following this select the security mode ("WLAN-Sich.- modus"), set it to "802.1x" and confirm by clicking "OK". Seite -6-

7 Step 14: Then set up you wireless LAN security settings ("WLAN- Sich.-einst."). Next to "WPA/WPA2" select "EAP". Step 15: Open the EAP plug-in settings ("EAP Plug-in-Einstell."). You will see a number of different authentication methods. Navigate to "EAP-PEAP", choose options ("Optionen") and then activate ("Aktivieren"). Seite -7-

8 Step 16: Navigate then to the next activated method (here "EAP- SIM"), select options ("Optionen"), then deactivate ("Deaktivieren"). Repeat this procedure for all the other activated methods until the method "EAP-PEAP" is the only one activated. To use only this method all others must be deactivated, no method but "EAP-PEAP" must have a check mark. Step 17: Move EAP-PEAP to the top of the list by clicking options ("Optionen") and raising the priority ("Priorität erhöhen ). Then navigate again to the method "EAP-PEAP", choose options and modify ("Bearbeiten") or press your joysticks middle button. Seite -8-

9 Step 18: In the settings ("Einstellungen") choose official certificate ("Behördliches Zertifikat") and select the certificate "ca" from the appearing list. Confirm by clicking "OK". In case you can't find the certificate it may not have been imported properly. Step 19: Change the username to be used ("Verwend. Benutz.- name") by selecting customized ("Benutzerdefiniert"). Mark the preset username ("Benuzername") and enter your tubit-username instead in the following format: "yourusername" ("DeinBenutzername") (without quotes). Confirm by clicking "OK". Seite -9-

10 Step 20: Change the domain to be used ("Verwendetes Gebiet") from "by certificate" ("Von Zertifikat") to customized ("Benutzerdefiniert"). Step 21: Select domain ("Gebiet") and enter "win.tu-berlin.de" into the field. Seite -10-

11 Step 22: The settings "PEAPv0/PEAPv1/PEAPv2" can stay the way they are. They should already be set to "yes" ("Ja") for "PEAPv0" and "PEAPv1" and to "no"("nein") for "PEAPv2". Step 23: Move your joystick to the right to select the tab "EAPs". Got to the method "EAP-MSCHAPv2" and select options ("Optionen"), then activate ("Aktivieren"). Here too the method "EAP-MSCHAPv2" must be the only one with a check mark. To deactivate the other methods go to the next activated method (here "EAP-AKA"), choose options, then deactivate ("Deaktivieren"). Repeat this until "EAP-MSCHAPv2" is the only method with a check mark next to it. Seite -11-

12 Step 24: Select the "EAP-MSCHAPv2" again and chose options ("Optionen"), then modify ("Bearbeiten"). Alternatively press the middle button of the joystick. Step 25: Open username ("Benutzername") and enter your ZRZ or tubit account in the following format: "yourusername" ("DeinBenutzername") (again without the quotes). Seite -12-

13 Step 26: Now select password ("Passwort"), enter your tubit passwort and confirm by clicking "OK". To save the changes to the configuration return to the menu "settings" ("Einstellungen") by repeatedly selecting to go back ("Zurück"). Then close the menu ("Schließen"). To use the network choose th connect to "eduroam" in your respective program. To determine where access to the Eduroam network is possible, have a look at the network coverage or use the connection manager of your Symbian S60 v3 device. Seite -13-
