1 Published: 29/01/2015 If you have previously used Outlook the with the SCC/SWO service then once you have been moved into Office 365 your Outlook will need to contact the SCC/SWO servers one last time to get the information that your mail has been moved, and where it is now located. If your Outlook is unable to contact the SCC/SWO servers (e.g Server Unavailable ) for whatever reason then that final part of the migration will fail because it won t be able to get the information to update correctly. In this situation you can manually update Outlook to contact Office 365 by doing the following: (We would recommend you ask your IT Support person to help you with this) Do you have a personal Archive set of folders? See notes at the end of this article before continuing. Close Outlook. Access the computer s Control Panel (Start Menu -> Control Panel). Ensure View by: at the top right of the window says Small icons. Look for an icon called Mail (32bit) In the window that opens click Show Profile button. You should find one profile, probably called Outlook click Remove (answering Yes to the prompt). Click Add and create a New Profile by giving it a name, the same as the old will do fine, i.e. Outlook. Enter your account details, similar to the screenshot below: Click Next.

2 If you see a restart message such as above, ignore it and press OK and continue.

3 Click Finish. Press OK to close the Mail settings window. Start Outlook in the usual way The first time Outlook starts after creating the account it can take a minute or two to launch.

4 Outlook should cache (i.e. download) a local copy of your to your PC, you may see a message such as above while that happens. At first Outlook may look blank or that it has missing s, in this case please wait a few minutes for the download process to complete. The next time you launch Outlook it may prompt you for your username and password. Please remember that in Office 365 your username is your full address. You can Remember my credentials so that the next time you launch Outlook it doesn t ask again. If you had any personal Archive folders you now need to re-attach them, see below for information. That is your Outlook complete and configured. Any further issues please contact your IT Support person or company.

5 Extra Information The following screenshot is of the Server Settings the server may change at any point so please don t attempt to type it in yourself, Microsoft Exchange will manage that process for you. It is important that Cached Exchange Mode is enabled, without it performance will be very poor and Outlook will often seem to be Not Responding. Any support questions should be handled by your IT Support Technician or Company. Do you have a personal Archive set of folders? If you have a personal Archive then the above process will remove them from your Outlook window, but don t worry, you can put them back later. However to put them back you need to know where they are saved on your computer. You need to find that information before you remove your existing Outlook profile. Before removing In Mail app, Show Profiles (see above for how to get there), highlight your profile and click Properties. Click Data Files. The following window should open

6 Look for Archives and note down where the pst file is located. In this example the PST file is located in C:\Users\sfprentice\Documents\Outlook Files\archive.pst You can now carry on with the instructions above, remove your profile and create a new one. After creating profile Once you have logged back in to Outlook you can then re-attach your PST archive folders by doing the following: In Outlook click the File tab. Click Account Settings, Account Settings. On the window that opens, click the Data Files tab. Click Add. Navigate to the location you noted down earlier and highlight your PST file and press OK. Close the Account Settings window. Your archive files should be re-attached to Outlook as before.
