2 INTRODUCTION BACKGROUND The MSCEIT (Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test) was developed by the originators of the psychological theory of emotional intelligence, Professors Peter Salovey (Yale University) and Jack Mayer (University of New Hampshire), with their colleague Dr David Caruso (Yale University). Research consistently demonstrates that people are not good estimators of their own or others intelligence. Instead of generating perceived emotional intelligence scores through self-report or 360-degree measures, the MSCEIT is a performance measure and as such assesses actual emotional intelligence skills. It is the only published performance measure of emotional intelligence worldwide.

Susan is the only accredited MSCEIT Certification Course trainer in Australasia who has been certified by the originators of emotional intelligence theory, Professors Peter Salovey and Jack Mayer. 4 FOCUS The MSCEIT Certification Course, designed by the test authors, Multi-Health Systems Inc. and Dr Susan David, provides detailed coverage of the Mayer-Salovey model of emotional intelligence and the MSCEIT (pronounced Mis-keet ). Both the emotional intelligence model and the MSCEIT can be used in a range of settings. These include: Performance enhancement through coaching Training programs Counselling interventions Recruitment and selection

6 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The MSCEIT Certification Course will be presented by Susan David. The workshop will take place from approximately 9 AM to 5 PM each day. A certification exam will be administered during the workshop. All participants will receive a pre-workshop information package. This will include additional details about the program schedule, some pre-workshop reading materials, and the opportunity to complete the MSCEIT online. An individual debriefing session will be provided after the workshop.

14 TERMS & CONDITIONS By registering for the MSCEIT certification program, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions: CANCELLATIONS Once the registration form and payment have been received, a fee will be charged in the event of cancellation. The fee structure for cancellation is as follows: 25% (+GST) of the core program fee for cancellation more than 30 days prior to the workshop start date. 50% (+ GST) of the core program fee for cancellation days prior to the workshop start date. 75% (+ GST) of the core program fee for cancellation 8-14 days prior to the workshop start date. 100% (+ GST) of the core program fee for cancellation 7 days prior to or within 7 days of the workshop start date.
