2 EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON THE FUTURE INTERNET WHAT IS IT ABOUT? The European Conference on the Future Internet (ECFI) aims at bringing together key stakeholders to discuss how Europe can achieve global leadership in ICT by 2020 through innovative Internet technologies. In this context, industry and political stakeholders will discuss central socio-economic and technological topics of Future Internet infrastructures and services in Europe. The event will present cutting-edge research results on the European Internet infrastructures and services of the future, which have been developed in the Future Internet Public-Private Partnership (FI-PPP). The FI-PPP is a European programme for Internet-enabled innovation aiming to accelerate the development and adoption of Future Internet technologies in Europe.

3 3RD EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON THE FUTURE INTERNET DON T MISS THE FUTURE! In November 2015, Hamburg will become the internet s largest future workshop and the heart of European start-ups. The international conference is embedded in an unprecedented event programme spanning 3 ½ days. One year after the launch of the 80 Mio. call it is time to review and discuss the results. More than 1,000 international guests are expected at the hub of the 250 start-ups with their success stories, along with international delegations from Europe, the USA, Mexico, Canada, Chile and Brazil, developers, the FIWARE community, scientists, venture capitalists, business angels and accelerators, as well as numerous exhibitors. 3 ½ days full of events with a supporting programme guarantee an intensive, constructive exchange of information and opinions and oﬀer an exclusive opportunity to network.

17 HACKS4GOOD Hacks4Good Developers work on projects with social impact Hacks4Good is a 1.5 day hackathon supporting projects with social impact to find technical and financial aid. More than 250 developers will meet and support up to 10 projects in need of technical solutions (refugees, environmental, elderly care...). The developers will help the projects to prototype solutions for their given problems - e.g. a platform for refugees with "How-To..." for their administrative problems, environmental sensor grids etc. Finally, the projects will be established during August and September.

18 HACKS4GOOD Hacks4Good Developers work on projects with social impact To date, we have the following projects: Inviting refugees and helping them to master their daily life e.g. with an administrative wiki, visualisations/how-tos to know which form and which person is responsible for any given case, Freifunk (Wifi for everybody) an environmental sensor project for detecting BORKENBEFALL (BARK INFESTATION) and other insects There will be a funding sum of approx. 25,000 EUR from which the projects will benefit. 50% of the amount available will be given to the developers, who have the chance to decide which project should benefit from this sum. Thus, they may donate money to one project and donate 2 days of work-time to another. Another 50% will be given to winning projects chosen by a jury. The projects can use the award to pay the developers in order to finalize the prototype into a working project.
