Latin II Credit 1 Building on your knowledge of Latin grammar and vocabulary, you will also explore Roman Course Code engineering, art, commerce, and its system of laws to demonstrate the flexibility of the language. Prerequisite: Latin I. Latin III Honors Credit 1 Strengthen your Latin vocabulary skills and develop an appreciation for well-crafted writing by Honors Code visiting the library of great authors. Electives Art History and Criticism I Honors Credit 1 Critique and compare significant works of art and architecture from Prehistory through the 16th Honors Code century. You will analyze art history and criticism methodologies, explore media and techniques used by artists from various cultures and time periods, and learn appropriate terminology for discussing artwork from around the world. This course can be used to meet a performing/fine arts requirement for high school graduation. Computing for College and Careers Credit 1 Turn your computer into an effective tool for communication. This course will help you acquire Course Code the essential business skills needed for any successful career. Eligible students will have the opportunity to earn their Microsoft Office Specialist certifications in Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. This course provides a practical art credit and can be used (with Foundations of Web Design and User Interface Design) as part of the three-course sequence of vocational courses for The Gold Seal/Bright Futures Scholarship. Creative Photography I Credit 1 Develop your photography knowledge, including the basics of lighting, shutter speed, and Course Code composition. Gain an understanding of professional photography, learn what creates an eyecatching photo, and build a portfolio of images. You must have access to a digital camera (cell phone cameras do not meet the requirement) to take this course. This course can be used to meet a performing/fine arts requirement for high school graduation. Driver Education/Traffic Safety Credit 0.5 Develop safe driving skills by studying the Highway Transportation System, road signs, rules of the Course Code road, and how to make good choices behind the wheel. This course covers the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles required completion of the Traffic Law & Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE). Upon completion, receive a TLSAE certificate, a necessary step toward getting your learner s permit. Prerequisite: Must be at least 14 and a half years old. This course cannot be used to fulfill the online course requirement per the Digital Learning Act for students entering 9th grade in 2013 and after. Discover how clues and data are recorded and Course Code preserved, and examine some of the basic scientific principles that guide forensic laboratory processes like DNA testing, toxicology, and material analysis. This course focuses on techniques and practices used by forensic scientists during a crime scene investigation (CSI). Prerequisite: 10th 12th grade status recommended. Explore interactive, real-world scenarios to learn basic Web design principles. From HTML Course Code to Adobe CS6 Dreamweaver and Photoshop, this course builds a strong foundation of Web design skills. Guitar I Credit 1 This introduction to the basics of music and guitar includes music notation and musical styles. No prior music experience is necessary, but you must have your own six-string guitar and a way to record and submit a video performance to your instructor.
