2 THE ITEMS BELOW WILL REMAIN THE SAME AFTER OUR CORE CONVERSION LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT CFE Federal Credit Union is in the process of converting to a new core system which will help us operate more efficiently, improve our products and services, and serve you better in the future. Throughout the many months of preparation for converting to a new core system, our fundamental goal has been to limit the impact on our members. We have worked diligently to make the transition as seamless as possible for you. As a result, the items below will remain the same after our core conversion. This booklet provides key information about the conversion, including the impact of the conversion on your accounts and a schedule of service disruptions which will occur beginning Friday evening, October 31, 2014 through Sunday, November 2, 2014 during our Please review this information thoroughly and note our closing schedule for Conversion Weekend, found on pages 9 and 10 of this booklet. Always remember, CFE will NEVER ask you to provide confidential information, such as account numbers, card numbers, or social security numbers, via , text message, or direct mail. Thank you for your understanding and patience while we upgrade our core system to serve you better. If you have questions, stop by any branch prior to Conversion Weekend or call the Member Center at or , option 3. Account numbers will not change. When you conduct business with CFE, you ll continue to use the same number to reference your account. Your debit cards, credit cards, and/or ATM cards will work the same after conversion. You will not be required to select a new PIN for your cards. You may continue to use your current supply of personal and business checks. Please see the Personal and Business Checks section on page 5 for additional information. Your Online Banking login information will not need to be reset, and scheduled bill payments will pay as usual. The PIN you use to access the MATT Phone system will be the same. You may continue to use your current supply of loan payment coupons. Account statements will have the same format and appearance. 3 To help guide you through the coming transition, we have outlined changes you will see after conversion. Please read through the following information carefully so you are well prepared for the change over to our new core system. SUFFIX NUMBERS To allow for the addition of new products and services, we are changing all suffix numbers except for Personal Share Savings, which will continue to be suffix 0. We recognize it will take time to adjust to new suffix numbers, so our Tellers and Member Representatives will help you. CHECKING, SAVINGS, AND MONEY MARKET ACCOUNTS Personal Sub Shares Product Name Current Suffixes New Suffixes SHARE CERTIFICATE AND IRA CERTIFICATE NOTE NUMBERS Every Share Certificate will be assigned a new note number, starting with 1000 and progressing through 1001, 1002, etc. IRA Certificates will begin with 2000 and progress through 2001, 2002, etc. We will maintain a cross-reference of note numbers to help us identify each of your certificates. Only the new certificate note numbers will appear on your statements. SHARED BRANCHING ACCOUNT NUMBERS CFE members who conduct transactions at other credit unions through shared branching will need to present a ten-digit account number. To convert your CFE account number to a ten-digit number, simply add zeroes to the beginning of your account number. Share Drafts (Checking) Personal Money Market 3, 9, 90, 91 5 or or 81 Here are examples for your reference: HSA Savings HSA Share Drafts (Checking) IRA Savings CFE Account Number Shared Branching Account Number Business Share Savings Business Sub Shares Business Share Drafts (Checking) Business Money Market Business Escrow 1 SHARE CERTIFICATES 75 Share Certificate note numbers will change to 1000 for your first certificate, 1001 for your second, and so on. IRA CERTIFICATES IRA Certificate note numbers will change to 2000 for your first certificate, 2001 for your second, and so on. 3 4
4 PERSONAL AND BUSINESS CHECKS Upon conversion, the MICR number for CFE checks will change. No action is required on your part and you are not required to replace your current supply of checks. You do not need to notify merchants like PayPal or utility companies like OUC or Bright House. Your checks and automatic payments will clear with the old number. When you reorder checks through Online Banking, the new MICR number will automatically be printed on your checks for you. If your checks were ordered from a company outside of CFE, you can continue to use your supply until it is depleted. When you reorder, contact the Member Center to obtain the correct MICR number. DEFERRED OPTION PLAN The Deferred Option Plan will become a Club Account instead of a Share Certificate upon conversion. The account will work the same way, and will continue to earn interest at the same rate. Payroll deductions set up for the account will continue uninterrupted. The only difference is that the early withdrawal penalty will be eliminated. ONLINE BANKING The login Information you use for Online Banking will remain the same. Your statements are your best source of historical information and transactions on your account. Past statements will be available in Online Banking as follows: Statements from March 2014 through present day will be available immediately upon conversion. Earlier statements will be available in Online Banking by the end of the year. Images of checks that clear your account prior to conversion will not be available for viewing inside Online Banking after conversion. Images of checks clearing after conversion will be clickable and printable. To obtain a copy of an older check, please contact the Member Center. QUICKEN AND QUICKBOOKS Quicken and QuickBooks users will need to take action prior to Detailed instructions have been made available inside Online Banking. FUN BUCKS Currently, Fun Bucks are mailed to children each quarter and must be brought to a branch for deposit to the child s Fun Bucks account. After conversion, we will automatically credit each child s Fun Bucks account with the Fun Bucks earned during the previous quarter. You will no longer need to bring Fun Bucks to a branch to receive the deposit incentive for your child. Our young members will continue to receive a special mailing from CFE each quarter to let them know how much has been deposited into their Fun Bucks account and to encourage good saving habits. MOBILE BANKING AND MOBILE CHECK DEPOSIT New mobile banking apps for iphone and Android users will be available for downloading. The existing apps will cease to function after Friday, October 31, so mobile banking users must download the new apps. You may find our new apps in itunes or Google Play prior to the conversion; however, please do not download to your mobile device until Monday, November 3 as some functionality, such as Mobile Check Deposit, will not be operational until we have gone through the conversion. We will add several new functions in our new mobile banking apps. All of the capabilities in our Online Banking system will be included in the new apps. For example, you will be able to transfer funds to and from external accounts from your mobile device. 5 6
5 PLAN AHEAD FOR CONVERSION WEEKEND Please review the following information carefully to avoid any inconvenience during Direct deposits and payments (ACH), including Social Security payments received by CFE that are scheduled to post over the weekend, will be applied to your account on Friday, October 31. Monthly dividends will also post on October 31. On Friday, October 31, at 5:00 pm, all of our branches and drive-thrus will close and will remain closed through Our branches will not be open on Saturday, November 1 for lobby or drive-thru service. You will have access to your funds throughout the weekend via ATM machines, your debit cards, credit cards, ATM cards, and checks. Member Center Representatives will be able to confirm direct deposits and account balances as of the close of business on Friday, October 31. Representatives will not be able to transfer funds, post payments, conduct monetary transactions, or review account history during You will not be able to make payments on any CFE loans in person, online, or by phone throughout Payments due on November 1 or 2 may be made on Monday, November 3, without a late fee. During Conversion Weekend, no loan applications will be accepted and no loans will be closed. Items placed in the Night Drop boxes and deposits made at ATMs will be posted on Monday, November 3. We have worked diligently over the past year to make this core system conversion as seamless for you as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and look forward to serving you now and in the future.
