The sales associate is responsible for interacting with customers and employees to create a positive, friendly environment. The sales associate maximizes sales by ensuring a neat, clean and organized store. The following describes the general nature and level of work but is not inclusive of all duties. Coordinates with leaders, stock and sales associates to ensure a positive, friendly and efficient customer experience Acknowledges and provides assistance to customers; locates merchandise efficiently using various methods; answers questions quickly and accurately Offers style and outfit suggestions to the customer, utilizing mannequins and displays for inspiration Knows and offers information to the customer on current merchandise assortment, store promotions and events Offers brand credit card to every customer; encourages cardholders to use the card Prevents theft and loss through positive customer engagement and application of Gap Inc. loss prevention techniques Performs all cashwrap transactions accurately; encourages participation in the customer opinion survey Upholds all company policies as outlined in the Policy & Procedure guide, including Code of Business Conduct and the Employee Policy Guide Meets or exceeds company productivity standards for all operational processes Ability to communicate effectively with customers and store employees Ability to demonstrate strong customer service Ability to receive feedback and take action when appropriate Ability to utilize retail technology Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. Ability to climb a ladder Ability to maneuver around sales floor and stockroom Previous experience in retail preferred Meets Gap Outlet's part time or full time availability guidelines
2 The stock associate is responsible for interacting with employees and customers to create a positive, friendly environment. The stock associate maximizes sales by ensuring a neat, clean and organized store. They are responsible for knowing and executing the Gap Outlet Brand Standards and Operational Processes. At Gap Outlet, we promote putting the customer first, then team and task; the stock associate performs any duty within the store that supports these priorities. Customer First: Coordinates with leaders, stock and sales associates to ensure a positive, friendly and efficient customer experience Acknowledges and provides assistance to customers; locates merchandise efficiently using various methods; answers questions quickly and accurately Prevents theft and loss through positive customer engagement and application of Gap Inc. loss prevention techniques Balances the needs of customer, team and task as directed by store leadership Then Team: Communicates with customers and employees in a friendly and respectful way; contributes to a safe and positive work environment Upholds all company policies as outlined in the Policy & Procedure guide, including Code of Business Conduct and the Employee Policy Guide Follows direction provided by store leadership; interprets and acts quickly on business priorities Positively represents the brand and store by adhering to the Employee Appearance Policy And Task: Meets or exceeds company productivity standards for all operational processes: Shipment Processing, Markdowns, Merchandise Signage, Replenishment and Recovery of Sales Floor and Stockroom Prepares and executes shipment assembly line tasks to company standard; flexes to all areas of the shipment line as needed Coordinates with leaders and fellow associates for the preparation and placement of merchandise on selling floor Identifies and communicates opportunities while replenishing size specific quantities throughout the store in response to sell thru Ensures neat, clean and organized areas throughout the stockroom and selling floor; performs all assigned cleaning duties Ensures unsold and/or returned merchandise is returned to the selling floor within established company standards ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:
3 Reports to a member of the leadership team. Receives daily direction from store leadership and collaborates effectively across store teams. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and store employees Ability to demonstrate strong customer focused service on and off the sales floor Ability to receive feedback and take action when appropriate Ability to follow written and verbal instruction and meet deadlines on tasks/projects Ability to utilize retail technology Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. Ability to climb a ladder Ability to maneuver around sales floor and stockroom Previous experience in retail preferred Meets Gap Outlet's part time or full time availability guidelines Providing our customers with an optimal shopping experience is our #1 priority. We work as a team. When not actively working at the cashwrap or assisting customers with their purchases and returns, team members are expected to perform a variety of crossfunctional tasks including merchandising, recovery, fitting room, cleaning and additional tasks as assigned by store leadership or as needed to ensure overall customer satisfaction. 4 The Assistant Manager executes the business strategy and leads the store team through customer engagement, operations, people management and merchandising the store. The Assistant Manager supports the leadership team in fostering a positive work environment that ensures both internal and external customer satisfaction, maximizes productivity and drives sales. Providing our customers with an optimal shopping experience is our #1 priority. The Assistant Manager is required to collaborate with peers and perform a variety of cross-functional tasks as assigned by the leader on duty to ensure overall customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Manager is also responsible for the Areas of Accountability that fall under each category below. Customer Engagement Supports the execution of action plans based on Customer Experience Survey results.
5 Shares feedback from customers to the senior general manager/general manager to improve overall customer experience. Meets the general manager s expectations for events. Meets Customer Information Capture goal. Trains sales associates. Meets Gap card goals by training the team and communicating results. Builds customer loyalty through social media and capture (Customer Information Capture). Creates a weekly schedule to maximize sales, floor coverage and productivity. Coordinates, participates and supports community involvement to drive brand loyalty and awareness. Creates a plan to increase traffic by using the clientele list, social media and events. 2. Daily Operations Monitors cash wrap to ensure customers are served in accordance with customer service standards and cashier guidelines. Monitors the store fund (i.e., safe and registers) to ensure the store has appropriate funds for daily/weekly business needs. 3. Talent Development Schedules and executes Welcome to Gap Inc and other training for all employees. 4. Talent Management Executes and drives the Employee Opinion Survey Action Plan. Supports the assistant general manager with employee file maintenance and audit compliance. Reviews changes to sales associate availability and forwards to senior general manager/general manager for approval. 5. Talent Recruiting
6 Supports hiring sales associates and ensures the team is consistently staffed with employees that meet the brand hiring profile by recruiting from a diverse pool of candidates. Identifies qualified external talent to create a network of sales associate bench talent. ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Senior General Manager/General Manager/Assistant General Manager. Supervises Lead and Sales Associates. Interacts with district manager and other business partners. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to model professional behavior as outlined in the Code of Business Conduct, at all times. Ability to communicate effectively with sales associates, customers and management. Ability to follow written or verbal instruction. Ability to create a positive work environment. Ability to listen to feedback and take constructive action. Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service when on sales floor. Minimum educational level: High School graduate or equivalent. Minimum experience: Six months of Gap Inc. experience preferred. Previous retail experience preferred. Experience supervising teams preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively with customers and store employees. Ability to maneuver around sales floor, back room and office areas.
7 Ability to travel as required. Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. Schedule Requirements: Open availability and flexibility to work nights, weekends, including opening and closing shifts, to meet the needs of the business.
