2 "FOOTBALL IS THE WORLD S GAME; IT SHOULD BE RUN FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE AND AFFORDABLE TO ALL." AFC Liverpool is an independent football club that was set up in 2008 by football supporters who recognised many were being priced out of top flight football. The aim of the club is to give the game back and make football once again accessible to all. The club is owned by the fans and run by the fans; anyone can become a member and have an equal vote on how the club develops. One member, one vote. Our membership is the heart of our club, and we have attracted support from across the globe from Liverpool to Australia. Since its inception AFC Liverpool has become an important part of many people s lives, be it following the first team for just 5 or joining one of our many youth teams, which have played across Merseyside. Club successes include being the first club to win the North West Counties Trophy back-to-back and promotion to the Premier Division in our third year. The first team continues to strengthen year on year, consolidating its position in the North West Counties Premier Division, and has reached the Liverpool Senior Cup Final twice in the past four seasons. 96

3 AFC Liverpool is run as a professional organisation with big ambitions, on and off the pitch. Although run by fans, the Society Board has been carefully picked and voted for by the members to include professionals in their respective fields. As a genuine not-for-profit organisation, all the revenue generated stays within the club and enables us to continue to grow. A top priority is find a place to call our own and there is an on-going search for suitable land to develop. The new facilities would be created with the 5 CUP FINALS IN 7 YEARS I would just like to congratulate you and everyone involved with AFC Liverpool. It is a brilliant idea and I hope that it is a success for you all. Kenny Dalglish wider community in mind, allowing us to open our doors to other groups and become a hub of activity across ages, genders and sports. The standing of the club is reflected in the Patrons who support us, which include footballing heroes John Aldridge, Joey Jones, David Johnson, Neil Mellor, Erik Meijer and Vegard Heggem, as well as respected figures from the sports world, Karen Gill, David Price and George Sephton. AFC Liverpool recognise the importance of supporting local communities and we have partnered with many charitable organisations such as Liverpool Homeless Football Club, Cash for Kids and the Hillsborough Justice Campaign, as well as supporting local groups with their fundraising efforts, including Broadway Hall, 12th Fairfield Scouts and Merseyside Asbestos Victims Support Group. AFC LIVERPOOL FORMED IN 2008 A CLUB RUN BY VOLUNTEERS AND MEMBERS

4 AFC Liverpool working in partnership with local businesses. AFC Liverpool is well placed to support local businesses achieve their objectives through developing relationships to the mutual benefit of both organisations. As part of the club s commitment to ensuring the best is offered to our sponsors an independent survey was conducted. The results showed that businesses value sports as an important tool, with almost half of marketing budgets going on sponsorship and a third supporting sports teams. The ethos of selected partners is critical, with 84% of survey respondents saying that football clubs should have a positive BUILDING LINKS WITH LOCAL JUNIOR LEAGUES impact on their community and 70% believing that clubs benefit from being supporter led. 77% went on to say grassroots/ non-league football is as important as top flight football and that all clubs have a responsibility to help everyone access to the game, regardless of age, gender or race. AFC Liverpool provides football across Merseyside, and is committed to strengthening and growing the community. Having various commercial packages, AFC Liverpool can meet your needs whatever your budget. With one of the highest average attendances in the Division and the strongest social media presence in the League, the club is able to offer exposure across Merseyside, nationally and internationally, both off- and online. In 2013 AFCLiverpool. tv had 135,500 unique visitors resulting in 7.7 million hits, with AIM TO ACHIEVE FA CHARTER STANDARD COMMUNITY STATUS the sponsors page the third most visited on the site. We also offer the chance to attend matches as our guests, utilising the facilities for your corporate events, or for you to simply to enjoy a game. Our matches are covered across a range of media, from local newspapers through to international coverage; last season we were featured in the Non-League Magazine, appeared on BBC News, have been interviewed for Greek, Italian and US media, and even filmed for Norway s largest commercial channel TV2.
