1 To: Parents of Perspective BOHS Soccer Players 2015/16 Season From: BOHS Soccer Boosters Date: July 2015 We are getting excited for the upcoming soccer season at BOHS. Over the past 10 years, we have been a part of a program that has grown and matured to its current level supporting 3 boys and 3 girl s soccer teams. We could not have done it without the dedicated parents who see the importance and richness provided in a highly competitive soccer program. We count on that dedication. As a matter of fact, if we did not count on it, there would be fewer teams which translate into less opportunity for our players. The combined budget for the boy s and girl s program is approximately $26, per year. (Please see attached sheet for a breakdown of budgeted expenditures). In order to continue to provide our soccer program at this level, we will ask you to support the program through the dedication of a pledge. The minimum pledge amount, $ will cover the cost per player and for the entire season. Dedication towards pledging can come in a variety of forms. 1- You can pledge in installments: $100 due 9/15; $75 due 10/15; $50 due 11/15. Or you can pledge with one lump sum (Checks made payable to the Brea Olinda Soccer Boosters). 2 And/or, you may choose to participate in one or several of the Fund Raising Events: Sell Car Wash Tickets. Each ticket sold is worth $6.00. Sell 37 tickets and your pledge will be filled Foot ball Mania. A sale of one $20.00 ticket brings back $14.00 to the program. Volunteer time to sell meal tickets at the Green and Gold event Nov. 21st. 1 hour will equal a $10.00 deduction from the $ pledge amount. Clothes for cash money earned from items brought will be deducted from the total. Clothes for cash- sell anything but shoes, etc. Sponsorships - We are open to any amount; Active participation in Dinner Nights (local restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds from family s meals back to the boosters);
2 Underwriting - Checks written toward a particular project, i.e. goals and/or net replacement and practice shirts; Purchase of Fan gear (See a more complete description of the activities attached). On the third page of this packet you will find the pledge sheet. Please fill out and turn into Dan Moon s mail box in the administrative office of the school by October 1, This form will need to be completed by the student and the parent who desire to participate in the program. Sports programs take a lot of effort. As boosters, we try to provide the basics to allow all of our sons and daughters to be the best people they can be as they development sportsmanship on the field of play. We understand that many of you also have children playing in club soccer programs. As such, it is our intent to make this program as affordable as possible - while at the same time, offering a quality developmental experience. We invite you to join our efforts and be a part of the soccer seasons. Thank you, in advance, for your interest and support. Sincerely; Brea Olinda Soccer Boosters
3 Brea Olinda Soccer Boosters Fund Raising Activities The soccer boosters have been working to provide an array of outstanding fund raising activities. These are meant to help us meet the budget obligations so that we can continue offering quality soccer opportunities for our sons and daughter at BOHS. We will ask each of you to support these activities as the school year progresses. These activities include: FootballMania (ticket sales during September/October timeframe) this is an exciting sweepstakes fund raiser where participants can win up to $ in prize money based on points scored by professional football teams. Brea Auto Spa Carwash Tickets (tickets sold between November and December) Our gracious and charitable sponsor at the auto spa allows us to sell car wash tickets below the posted price than splits the proceeds with the boosters 50/50. These are wonderful stocking stuffers. They can also be used year around, with no expiration date. Clothes for Cash (bring your used clothes to Green and Gold game November 21 st ) this is a perfect time for you to get rid of the clothing you no longer use(except shoes) and donate them to a cause that will actually pay money for the used items. Dinners Out (scheduled throughout the soccer season) local restaurants have graciously agreed to split profits of food sales with the Brea Boosters on set nights. A wonderful way to support the teams and local restaurants, while giving mom (or dad) a cooking break. Fan / Bling Wear (to be bought from Sept. through Dec. timeframe) You will now have access (on the teams web pages) to purchase merchandise to wear at games to support you player throughout the season. Part of the proceeds will come back to the Brea Boosters. Green and Gold Potluck (November 21 st ). You will be asked to bring an item to share for the game. The boosters will charge a nominal fee ($3.00 per person) to purchase a complete dinner going back as many times as you want, This will be the second season we did this and the first season was tremendously successful. Wildcat Cup (?) The boosters provide a small concession stand throughout the tournament, providing snacks as well as coffee, hot chocolate, water and Gatorade.
4 The Brea Olinda Soccer Boosters Pledge Form Should my son/daughter choose to play soccer in one of the soccer programs at Brea Olinda High School, I have a responsibility to support the program. The financial costs are $ per player for the 2015/16 season. Your son/daughter may also work the volunteer hours at the concession stands (in fact, we encourage this) and their time will be deducted to the total pledge amount. I pledge to assist in the following way(s): Please choose at least one of the following: I will write a check for $ to the soccer boosters by October 31; I will participate in the following pledge plan - $ due September 15, $75.00 due October 15, and $50.00 due November 15; I wish to be a Brea Olinda Soccer Booster Sponsor (for a $ donation you will receive a banner displaying your company name at every home game); I pledge to underwrite the costs of new goals for the 2015/16 season $750.00; I pledge to donate $75.00 in September and pledge to sell 25 car wash tickets as a fund raiser; I pledge to donate $50.00 in September and sell either 30 car wash tickets or sell 13 tickets for the Football Mania fund raiser; I pledge to sell 16 tickets in the Football Mania Tickets; I pledge to sell 38 Car Wash Fund Raiser Tickets; I pledge to work 22 hours at Wildcat Cup Concession Stand; I pledge to work 6 hours at the Green and Gold Potluck fund raiser and 16 hours at the Wildcat Cup Tournament concession stand. I/We pledge to fulfill the tasks checked above as part of my responsibility to be a part of the soccer team at BOHS. (players signature) (parent signature) (date) (date)
