2 Your day your way.. Congratulations! You re engaged and looking forward to one of the single most important events in the beginning of your new life together. Thank you for considering the Hobart Showground for your up-coming wedding. We understand how important your special day is and we want it to be perfect. Our experienced events coordinator will assist you in every way possible to ensure the planning of your special day runs perfectly right down to the very last detail. Everything you need to consider is contained within our compendium but please feel free to contact us at any time on

3 For your consideration.. Rooms The Hobart Showground has a long history of holding events, in fact we have been organising events since We can cater for up to 1,000 guests and have several rooms and spaces that you may like to consider for your reception. We are happy for you to look over the rooms at any time but as we operate seven days a week and our facilities may be in use please or phone to make an appointment. Catering We understand that your day is unique to your taste and we are flexible and happy to provide several different options for your reception including cocktail style, buffet, seated or you may wish to self cater. (terms and conditions apply for self catering options). We are also able to provide you with a range of affordable food & beverage packages. Menus You may wish to supply your own printed menus for each table or our friendly staff are more than happy to assist you with printing if you prefer.

4 Room Decorations Depending on the package you choose we are able to provide your room with a wedding table backdrop, fully dressed cake table, skirting and chair covers all inclusive in the price. You also have the option of theming your room which our dedicated staff are more than happy to assist you with. Car Parking On-site complimentary car parking as well as disabled access available to all guests and within close proximity to the venue. Smoke Free Policy All function rooms are smoke free areas. Smoking is permitted outside in designated smoking areas only. Responsible Service of Alcohol The Hobart Showground is required by law to enforce Responsible Service of Alcohol. Hobart Showground reserves the right to refuse service to guests who appear to be intoxicated. Alcohol is not permitted to be brought on-site and is not permitted to leave the designated function rooms/areas. Is this does occur the organiser will be notified and appropriate action will be taken.

5 Derwent Room Located in the Upper Level Main Grandstand complex this room can be customised to suit your needs. Ideally suited to larger weddings of up to 250 guests seated and 350 guests in a cocktail style wedding it can also be utilised for smaller receptions. The Derwent Room comes with a large dance floor and stunning views out over the city. The Derwent Room can be conjoined with the Wellington Room right next door and comfortably seat up to 400 guests. Wellington Room The Wellington Room is located in the Upper Main Grandstand complex and is suited to smaller more intimate occasions with space for 80 guests. There is also a smaller area off to the side that can be utilised as a catering area or music and dance area. Main Grandstand Hall At 800sqm and able to seat up to 1,000 guests the Main Grandstand Hall is large enough to accommodate a range of events. The facility is access friendly, heated and offers a drive through access if required. The high ceilings and multiple entrances make this a versatile venue that can be customised with your theme.

6 Budget Wedding Packages at Hobart Showground $58 per person Package includes: 2 course gourmet buffet. Complimentary beverages for the bridal party* 1 carafe of complimentary wine per table.* Room hire inclusive of set up* Dance floor, lectern, microphone, pa system, cake table and gift table. Wedding table backdrop, white table cloths, black chair covers, dressed bridal table, napkins and printed table menus. (minimum numbers of 60 guests apply) $68 per person Package includes: 3 course gourmet buffet, Arrival drinks including beer, wine and sparkling* Complimentary Sparkling for the toast* Room hire inclusive of set up* Dance floor, lectern, microphone, pa system, cake table and gift table. Wedding table backdrop, white table cloths, napkins and printed table menus. (minimum numbers of 60 guests apply) (* Conditions apply) Please take the time to read our terms and conditions carefully.

7 TERMS & CONDITIONS BOOKING CONFIRMATION To ensure you can reserve the date you are hoping for, for your wedding reception, we require a deposit of $ within two (2) weeks of the booking being made. The date by which we require this deposit to be paid will be specified in a formal booking form that will be sent to you. If this deposit is not received within the agreed time, Hobart Showground reserves the right to release your booking date to another party and re-sell the venue. CANCELLATIONS If cancelled from two to six months prior to the event, 50% of the deposit will be forfeited. Cancellation between two and 1 months prior, full deposit will be forfeited. Cancellation one month prior to the event, full deposit will be forfeited and 20% of the estimated total food and beverage component will be charged. Beverages will be estimated at 40% of what is spent on food. Final catering numbers must be confirmed within 14 days of the event. Any decrease in numbers after this time will still be charged as at final confirmed numbers. Cancellations must be made in writing to the Venue Hire Department. DURATION & FINISHING TIMES A maximum time limit of 6.0 hours for a Dinner Reception will apply, and the organiser agrees to have all guests, invitees and others vacate the function room at the agreed completion time. Please note that the licensing law stipulates that the service of alcohol must cease at midnight. FINAL DETAILS Final numbers must be confirmed at least five (5) working days prior to your wedding with the Wedding Coordinator. CONSUMPTION The Main Grandstand is a fully licensed premises and operates by the Liquor Act All Food and Beverage consumed onsite at the Hobart Showground must, under State Licensing Laws, be supplied by the Hobart Showground, and may not be brought in from external sources. Should any guests attending your wedding reception be in possession of alcohol which has been brought onto the premises from an external source, the Hobart Showground reserves the right to act upon this by closing the Main Grandstand bar, confiscating this alcohol, and charging a fee equivalent to the retail value of the beverage in question to your beverage TAB. LIABILITY The Proprietor of the Hobart Showground is not liable for the loss, destruction or damage of, or to, property belonging to guests on these premises unless such property has been lodged expressly for safe custody, or, has been lost, damaged or destroyed due to some negligence or deliberate or reckless act or default of the proprietor or an employee. Nor does the Hobart Showground accept any liability for personal injury or damage caused by equipment not supplied by the Hobart Showground.

8 BUDGET WEDDING PACKAGES Some Budget Wedding Packages require minimum numbers. Please speak with your wedding co-ordinator for more details. DAMAGE Organiser s are financially responsible for any damages sustained to the Hobart Showground and or, Hobart Showground property, by organiser s associates and/or agents, and will be charged for repairs, labour or replacement as deemed necessary by Management, whether in the room reserved or any area or part of the Hobart Showground as a result of their event. Sticky tape, bluetac or any other adhesive is NOT to be adhered to any walls or hard surfaces within the Hobart Showground. Any queries please see your Wedding Coordinator. BEHAVIOUR Due to Responsible Service of Alcohol legislation and our Duty of Care policy, in the unfortunate event that a guests behaviour is deemed inappropriate, we require a responsible guest (i.e. Master of Ceremonies, parent of Bride/Groom) to assist in the prompt resolution of this issue. The Hobart Showground reserves the right to request a guest to leave the premises. PAYMENT Settlement of the food component is required five (5) working days prior to your dinner. The beverage account may be settled on the day. SUNDAYS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS Please note, a surcharge of 15% is applicable to the final account when a function is held on a Sunday or Public Holiday. CONDITIONS APPLY $58 Package Complimentary beverages for the bridal party* (includes beer & wine only for up to 8 guests). 1 carafe of complimentary wine per table.* (red or white wine only, at Hobart Showground s discretion). Room hire inclusive of set up* (no room hire will apply if catering is through Hobart Showground and there is a minimum of 60 guests). $68 Package Arrival drinks including beer, wine and sparkling* (1 drink per guest upon arrival, beer, wine and soft drink only).
