1 TriadWeddings Wedding Planner Use this Wedding Planning Guide to keep track of your wedding budget and the many details needed to plan your perfect day! Timeline months before n Announce your engagement. n If desired, have an engagement party. Register beforehand for gifts. n Create a budget. n Select your wedding date and time. n Check with venues, officiants, and other crucial parties before finalizing. n Meet with your clergy to discuss premarital requirements including classes, counseling, etc. n Determine the style of your wedding. n If desired, hire a wedding consultant. n Determine the size of your guest list. n Choose and reserve locations for ceremony and reception. n Select your bridal party. n Begin shopping for wedding rings. n Interview and select caterer. n Interview and select photographer. n Interview and select florist. n Interview and select musicians/entertainment. n Interview and select a videographer months before n Research, shop for and order your gown, headpiece and accessories. n Select your color scheme. n Begin planning ceremony and reception details. n Determine what type of entertainment you want. n Complete arrangements with service professionals. Be sure to collect signed contracts and pay deposits. n Meet with caterer to sample foods and plan menu. n Plan all details of reception. n Select attendants apparel. n Select type of music for ceremony and reception. n Plan your floral décor for ceremony and reception. n Research and reserve accommodations for out-of-town guests. n Register for gifts. n Select floral preservation company. 6-8 months before n Contact rental companies for anything you need to rent such as tables, chairs, tents, etc. for ceremony or reception. n Consult your travel agent about honeymoon plans. n Order bridesmaids dresses. n Order men s formal wear. n Send out save-the-date cards, especially if you re marrying during a holiday season or having a destination wedding. n Meet with beauty professionals to decide on what look you want for your special day. 4-6 months before n Finalize guest list. n 6 months: Order invitations, personal stationery, thank-you notes and wedding programs. n Prepare and print map for invitations. n Shop for wedding rings. n Attend pre-wedding counseling, if required. n Secure honeymoon reservations. n Complete all gift registries. n Have a hair and makeup rehearsal with headpiece. n Begin addressing invitations once received. n Interview and select a cake designer. n Reserve transportation (limousine, carriage, etc. ) n Renew or get passports if needed. n Schedule physical exams and update immunizations if needed. 2-4 months before n Order wedding cake and groom s cake. n Have formal portrait taken. n Send local newspaper wedding announcement & photograph. n Finish addressing invitations. n Plan bridesmaids luncheon. n Plan attendants gifts and gifts for each other. n Review & finalize floral and decorating arrangements. n Groom s family plans rehearsal dinner. n Buy all wedding party shoes and send to dyer. 2 months before n Mail invitations four to six weeks before wedding. n Review details with all service professionals. n Review ceremony with clergy. n Make rehearsal dinner reservations. n Make reservations for bridesmaids luncheon. n Make health and beauty appointments. n Confirm honeymoon reservations. n Select & purchase accessories such as toasting goblets, ring bearer s pillow, garter, cake knife, etc. n Secure marriage license. n Record gifts as they arrive and send thank-you notes. n Write vows. 1 month before n Final gown and attendants fittings. n Have gown pressed and bring it home. n Ensure all of your accessories are in order. n Make sure all bridesmaids have their dresses and shoes ready for the wedding. n Have groom pick up wedding rings. n Make last minute adjustments with vendors. n Order and plan welcome gifts for out-of-town guests. 2 weeks before n Deliver shot lists to photographer/videographer. n Deliver final song list to DJ/band including songs you don t want played. n Bride: get your last haircut and color before wedding. n Invite wedding party and guests to rehearsal dinner. n Review reception seating; order place cards if necessary. n Confirm wedding party transportation and arrival times. n Confirm out-of-town guests lodging with reserved hotels. 104
