2 About the Arts House Occupying the almost 200-year-old building that was Singapore s first Parliament House, The Arts House has been playing an active role in the Singapore arts and creative scene. The House promotes and presents multi-disciplinary programmes and festivals such as literary, performing and visual arts, as well as film. The Arts House is run and managed by Arts House Limited (AHL). AHL also presents the Singapore International Festival of Arts, and manages Goodman Arts Centre and Aliwal Arts Centre. 3 For Hire The Light Beyond by Melisa Teo at Gallery I venues@artshouse.sg The Arts House is the oldest public building still standing in Singapore. Combining rich historical value with charming spaces, the House is the ideal venue for your events. Gallery I The exposed brick entrance into Gallery I is possibly the oldest feature of the Old Parliament House. These walls were treated with stucco or Madras chunam plaster made from shell lime, egg white, coarse sugar and water soaked with coconut husks for 24 hours. This unique space is best used for exhibitions, product launches and cocktails.

4 Art at the Arts House Local Mynas by Lim Soo Ngee Lawn in front of The Arts House An international debut, artist Lim Soo Ngee was inspired to create this work when he discovered that the dominant species of migrant Javan Myna birds has led to the demise and near extinction of the local species. The programme includes an interactive role-playing experience exploring characters from Macbeth.
