2 Algebra 1 Summer Math Packet Directions You are expected to complete this Summer Math Packet to be best prepared for your scheduled Algebra I math class in September. Your math placement and next year s math course/class was made on your June report card. You should complete the Math Packet for the class you will enter in September. This packet is due the first day of school. Scoring/Grading: Each Summer Math Packet is worth a total 30 points: You will be graded on the completeness of your packet. Each page of the packet has a value of 2 points if totally complete. Any partially completed pages will earn part credit (1pt). Incomplete pages (pages that are not done) earn no credit. All teachers will enter a 30pt grade into PowerSchool to record earned grades on the Summer Packet that will become part of your 1 st marking period grade. We will collect data to determine which prerequisite skills and concepts students have mastered or need more exposure to guide instruction for September. Directions: Complete each problem on all pages of the packet. It is best that you print the packet, but you can work from your computer as well. Complete all work neatly and organized on the packet page or on lined paper. It is best that you work without a calculator to strengthen your math fact fluency. Turn in your labeled and organized work paper or packet. Resources: There are bold headers identifying the skill/concept for the examples that follow. In the upper right corner of the packet pages there are Go Math Accelerated 7 page numbers referenced. You can use this information for support and guided examples. Go Math texts can be my.hrw.com using Chrome (not Internet Explorer) and the user names and passwords given during the school year. Students can watch the online videos in the text for added explanations. For additional examples and support you can reference any of the sites listed below and search the skill/concept.
