3 President's Message Hospitality & Tourism sector has emerged as a key area of the world economy, proving that it has enormous influence and enthusiasm to create generous employment opportunities. The growth of the services industry mostly depends on the quality of human resources. It requires energy to succeed in this competitive environment. Keeping in view the real need for professionally trained personnel by the fast growing hospitality industry, the Leo Academy has come into the existence. It gives me a great pleasure to invite the students to the Leo Academy of Hospitality & Tourism Management (LAHTM), a center of excellence in the service sector. We are trying to create a world class learning environment where students can develop proficiencies in the areas of their choice. The aim is to develop from entry level to a manager's level and confidently perform in a global, multi-cultural environment. LAHTM, through its different programmes, has upheld its objective in attaining excellence in hospitality education and business management under the umbrella of Leonia Holistic Resorts, a world-class convention city and luxury hotels. LAHTM provides the platform for great careers in hospitality industry, both nationally and internationally. With great pleasure, I extend a hearty welcome to the young men and women aspiring to join the various courses in Hotel Management offered by LAHTM and I hope that the future needs of our nation could be fulfilled by the generations of young and professional personnel manning the service sector in our ever growing hospitality and tourism Industry. 4 Introduction Leo Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Management (LAHTM) is set on a well equipped, modern and peaceful Campus of Leonia The Holistic Destination a choice destination for Business and Leisure Tourism (Promoted by the Leo Meridian Infrastructure Projects & Hotels Limited) which is located in an easy 60 minutes drive from Hyderabad Airport. The location of Leonia Campus offers serenity with picturesque surroundings comprising extensive greeneries and farmlands. The 'Leonia Holistic Destination campus features most technologically advanced Luxury Hotel with 82 rooms + 6 World-class suites, swimming Pool, Restaurants, large and medium sized Convention/Conference Centres, Spa, Gym, Indoor Sports and Entertainment complex, Kids Court etc. The Leonia Group planned for an upcoming project of a business hotel consisting of 1000 rooms in the same campus by the end of December, The facilities and infrastructure would be used to provide experiential and on-the-job exposure to the students of LAHTM pursuing courses in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Hospitality & Tourism Management An Overview In recent years, India has emerged as one of the fast growing economies in the World largely driven by service-sector activities significantly contributing to exceptional growth potential. Hospitality and Tourism industry in the Country has been showing continued growth and prosperity due to ever increasing inflow of business and leisure travelers. The continued growth of tourism sector, which involves a wide variety of activities, the two most important being hospitality and travel trade, provides a large spectrum of employment opportunities. Hospitality Management personnel are in great demand not only in Hotels and Resorts but also in Corporate Sector including MNCs, Airlines, Hospitals and Health clinics, Flight kitchens, Cruise Ships, Call Centres, Fast Food chains, Event Management Companies etc.

6 Academic Courses Offered The course curriculum / syllabus adopted at the Academy aims at providing the students hands-on education with experiential inputs and on-the-job exposure rather than mere conventional class-room education, inculcating personality development traits with a sense of hygiene, grooming, positive attitude and commitment towards productive work and specific skills orientation. The Academy offers the following Degree / Certificate Courses: A DEGREE COURSE AFFILIATED TO OSMANIA UNIVERSITY: Course Duration 1. Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology 3-years B CRAFT CERTIFICATE COURSES AFFILIATED TO THE STATE BOARD OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION & TRAINING (SBTET), GOVT. OF A.P. Course Duration 1. Food Production & Pattisserie 1 ½ year C 2 Years Vocational Courses Affiliated to Board of Intermediate, AP Course Duration 1. Hotel Operations 2 Years 2. Travel & Tourism Management 2 Years

7 Eligibility For Admission: The minimum qualifications for entry to the above courses are as follows: A For Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology : +2 pass certificate B For Craft Certificate Courses conducted by the State Board of Technical Education (SBTET) - SSC pass certificate except for Front Office required + 2 pass certificate. C For 2 Years Vocational Courses conducted by Board of Intermediate : SSC Pass Certificate SELECTION PROCESS: Selection would be on the basis of personal interview and percentage of pass in the qualifying examination. ADMISSION PROCEDURE: Application format and Prospectus may be obtained from the Registered Office of the Academy at the following address, on payment of Rs. 300/- by cash or a demand draft favouring Leo Academy of Hospitality & Tourism Management. Upon submission of application, candidates will be called for personal interview. PAYMENT OF FEES: The fee is payable in two terms, which will be communicated to the students at the time of admission. DRESS CODE: For the purpose of laboratory work, all the students are required to equip themselves with protective clothing with sufficient quantity to ensure regular hygienic standards. No student will be allowed to any part of practical classes unless wearing of appropriate uniforms. To maintain the similarity in uniforms and other accessories like kitchen kit etc. will be arranged by the Academy at the time of admission.

8 HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION: Hostel accommodation on sharing basis will be arranged separately for boys and girls at a location very close to the Academy. Hostel accommodation is limited, allocation of seats is on a first-cum-first served basis. Essential furniture such as bed, mattress, study table, chair and cupboard is provided for each individual. Rules and Regulations: 1. All the students must obtain an identity card and carry it with them always. 2. The students must be present in their respective classrooms / Labs at least 5 minutes before the commencement of the class. 3. The students must strictly adhere to the grooming standards of the Institution. 4. Students must not take up any outdoor catering and functions without prior permission of the Institute authorities 5. Any student absenting himself/herself continuously for two weeks without prior permission will be liable for action and their names will be removed from rolls. 6. The fees once paid will not be refunded except the caution deposit. 7. The students are required to put in minimum 75% attendance to be eligible for appearing in the final examination. 8. General rules and regulations and the rules pertaining to attendance and eligibility criteria will be as per the rules and regulations of the affiliating authorities of the respective programmes conducted by the Institute. 9. Matters not covered in these rules will rest at the discretion of the Academy authorities. 10. SMOKING inside the Institute Campus is strictly banned.
