2 The presidents Invitation Dear Members, Geneva, February 25 th, 2011 It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the Spring Meeting 2011 of the Swiss Cytometry Society this year in Interlaken - on Friday, April 8th. The focus of our meeting will be on Minimal residual disease detection. We have the great opportunity to meet as an invited speaker, Professor Brent Wood from the Washington University in Seattle (USA). Brent is a world-known expert on flow cytometry and also a gifted teacher. He will stay with us for the whole meeting and will not only give us two state-of-the-art lectures on MRD-detection in AL, but also discuss with us some practical cases. To fully profit from this interactive part of the day we will distribute Case files prior to the meeting to all registered participants. You can then analyze these cases in your respective laboratories using your own software. During the meeting Brent Wood will comment on them and show us his way of analysis. We therefore suggest that you take your own laptops along, equipped with the analysis software you are used to, in order to follow step-by-step his strategy of analysis. The Spring Meeting has been planned very informally to allow for plenty of time to discuss, exchange views and opinions, chat with old friends and hopefully find new ones.
