1 Griffin Pond Animal Shelter Pet Walk & Family Festival 2015 McDade Park (Pavilion 2) Scranton, PA Sunday, August 9th 2015 ~ 12:00pm - 4:00pm Griffin Pond Animal Shelter will hold the Annual Pet Walk & Family Festival at McDade Park on Sunday August 9th beginning with registration at 12:00pm. This annual event is sponsored by the Board of Directors, management, staff and volunteers of Griffin Pond Animal Shelter along with State Representative Marty Flynn. All proceeds will benefit Griffin Pond Animal Shelter. Many fun activities in addition to the Pet Walk are planned to make this a great event for adults, kids and pets including a Owner/Pet Look Alike Contest, Dog Training, Dancing and Agility Demonstrations, Pony Rides, Vendors, Pet Photography, Microchip Booth, Food Trucks, Raffle Baskets, Dunk Tank, Bouncy House, Face Painting, Tattoos, Finger Paint Your Pet s Paws for a lasting memory and much more! BEFORE THE WALK: The Pet Walk is a fundraising event to provide care of animals and the animal welfare programs at the shelter. Walkers 14 & under must be accompanied by an adult. All walkers must have at least one sponsor (which may include the walker). ASK YOUR FRIENDS, RELATIVES, & LOCAL MERCHANTS SPONSOR YOU for the walk. Have your sponsors fill out the sponsor sheet and advise your sponsors that all of the pledges are due immediately so you may turn them in on the morning of the walk. The money and forms are due at registration. Sponsors will pledge one amount for the entire walk. PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED TO THE WALKERS WHO RAISE THE MOST FUNDS! Be sure your pet is in shape for the walk, is wearing a suitable collar & is kept on a leash at all times. Dogs must be vaccinated for parvo, distemper & rabies and MUST have a valid dog license. No females in heat will be allowed. MORNING OF THE WALK: Registration begins at 12:00pm near Pavilion 2. The Pet Walk Opening Ceremony will begin at 1pm followed by the actual Walk at 1:30pm starting from the pavilion. The Walk will wind around the pond area. DURING THE WALK: Please Be sure to bring bags to clean up after your pet. *** Event details are subject to change. Please check at registration desk on day of event.

3 April, 2015 Dear Friend of the Shelter: We are excited to announce our upcoming annual event Pet Walk & Family Festival will be held on Sunday, August 9 th 2015 at McDade Park in Scranton, PA. The shelter is seeking event sponsors for our annual fundraising event! Last year, Pet Walk & Family Festival won the Happie Award for best Pet Centered Event voted by the public through Happenings Magazine. We hope to make this year s event even more enjoyable. With the generous support of community members like you, the team at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter has been able to provide care for thousands of homeless animals including the sick, elderly and injured animals that are in our guardianship due to various reasons such as owner surrenders and cruelty case investigations. Currently, our shelter is responsible for the care of at least 200 animals on a daily basis. Community donations and support has helped our team at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter accomplish many positive achievements in 2014, including: 2,537 homeless animals were adopted into forever homes 253 cruelty cases have been investigated & processed in Lackawanna County by our Humane Police Officer We truly appreciate your consideration of sponsoring this very important fundraiser for our nonprofit 501(c)3 charitable organization. The cost may be used as a donation write off because Griffin Pond Animal Shelter is a registered non-profit that does not receive county, state or federal funding. 5 McDade Park Pavilion II The Griffin Pond Animal Shelter Pet Walk & Festival committee is seeking vendors for this year s annual event to be held on August 9th, 2015 from 11am-5pm at McDade Park, Scranton! Each space is 10x10 (with wiggle room in between each vendor). You must provide your own table, tent and chairs. There is no electricity available for vendors.
