2 West End Shelter for Animals 1st Annual Walk-n-Wag-a-Thon On Saturday, May 8, 2010, rain or shine, the shelter is holding their 1st annual Walk-n-Wag-a-thon fundraiser at Prado Regional Park, Euclid Avenue, Chino. Our goal is to raise community awareness for the services we provide, raise money to build a new facility and continue our save a pet rescue program. The Walk-n-Wag-a-Thon will consist of a ruffy 5k dog walk around the lake, music, food, KFRG-FM & KOLA-FM prize vans, vendors booths, gift card drawings for The Shoppes at Chino Hills and a special Grand Marshall (TBA). The reason this fundraiser is needed is: The number of homeless animals has increased and we are outgrowing our current building. One of our goals is to construct a new building including a full-service animal hospital and an administrative office with classrooms for training as well as outreach programs for school children. We also run a Save a Pet Rescue program where funds allow our staff to go to kill shelters to save adoptable pets and bring them back to West End Shelter for Animals to await a forever home. Advance registration: $25 Adult- Kids 12 years & under free - Dogs free Walk Day Registration: $30- Adult- Kids 12 years & under free - Dogs free Please visit for general information, or contact Janine Perry at (909) or info@perryadvertising.com to see our many levels of sponsorship and opportunities. We will need volunteers at the event, if interested in volunteering please call the shelter. Your sponsorship is tax deductible and will be greatly appreciated!! Also, if you have a prize that you d like to donate for our raffle, drop it off at the shelter. We thank you in advance for your consideration of this contribution. GET READY TO WALK-N-WAG!!! Hope everyone had a great year!! Here is a quick update on progress at West End Shelter. The theme for last quarter was painting, lighting, and electrical. Essentially we put low power consumption outdoor lighting everywhere on the campus. To accomodate this, we continued to update the electrical system of the facility. Our new phone system is finally ready to launch, and will allow us to improve the way we can help you. Note that we are planning our next fundraiser for Saturday, May 8th at Prado Park. Many thanks to Janine Perry, of Perry Advertising in Rancho Cucamonga, for coordinating this event. It will be a fun family event. The first quarter of this year, we are planning to re-pave our driveways and parking areas. We are saving our pennies for this, and if you know of a paving company who may wish to donate services, please ask them to contact us. We continue to raise money for our new building project. This last quarter, we were the recipient of two wills, and this will add money to our building fund. I hope we can expand this type of charitable giving in the future. Please keep us in mind for your charitable giving. Adoptions are up this last quarter, but due to the economy, we have had more dogs and cats come in the last half of the year. Thanks for your help in supporting the shelter. Please put May 8th on your calendar and join us for a fun event!
