1 The BOB&TOM VIP Podcast for itunes 11 System Requirements In order to run itunes 11, please see the system requirements at A Note on Downloading Directly to Mobile Devices Please note that due to the secure authentication process required for our paid subscription podcasts, downloading directly to your mobile ios device is not possible, via either itunes or the Apple Podcast app. All itunes downloads must be performed on a personal computer, then synced to your mobile device. When listening to the episodes in the Podcast app, the app may give you an error stating Unable to Authorize, as it is trying to sync the podcast. To disable this message, please see our help page at Initial Setup of the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast for itunes 11 If needed, download and install itunes 11 for PC or Mac from Note: If a previous version of itunes is installed, please run Apple Software Update instead. To start the update, go to the Help menu and select Check for Updates. Once installed, launch itunes 11 and follow the on-screen setup instructions. When complete, go to: Note: Be sure you are logged into the website with your BOB&TOM VIP username and password. In the section labeled itunes Podcast, click the link Start itunes Podcast This will automatically launch itunes and auto-load the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast feed into the Podcast section of itunes. Note: If auto-load does not occur within the itunes player, go to the File menu and select Subscribe to Podcast In the Subscribe to Podcast box, paste the following URL: Click OK.

2 When prompted within itunes, enter your BOB&TOM VIP username and password and checkmark Remember password. Note: Make sure you are entering your BOB&TOM VIP username and password, not your Apple ID, in these fields. The BOB&TOM VIP Podcast will load into the Podcasts library in itunes. Note: If this does not occur, choose the Podcasts option in the left dropdown menu 1. For podcasts, itunes has several category viewing options: Unplayed, Podcasts, & List 2 (Unplayed will only appear after more than one hour has been downloaded). Choose the one that best suits your needs. Click on the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast 3 in the left library pane.

3 You will see one downloaded hour, plus the past 7 days of shows available for download. Note: If you see only the single downloaded hour, you are likely in the Unplayed view. Switch to the Podcasts view and the previous 7 days of shows should appear. To download all hours available from the past 7 days, you must first switch to List view. Once in the List view, click the small black arrow to the left of the podcast subscription 1 to see all the episodes. Then click on the white arrow in the gray box to the right of the podcast subscription 2 to download all the episodes. To download individual hours available from the past 7 days, click the white arrow in the gray box next to each hour listed 3. While a file is downloading, a small gray circle will start to fill to the left of the name of the file. When the file has finished downloading, the circle will turn blue to indicate it is new and has not been listened to yet. After the file has been listened to, the circle will disappear altogether.

4 Setting up the itunes Auto-Download Feature for the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast Click the gear icon to the right of the podcast in the main Podcast library pane. In the Podcast Settings box, we recommend the following settings: Check for new episodes: Every hour Settings for: BOB&TOM VIP Podcast Use Default Settings: Unchecked When new episodes are available: Download all Episodes to keep: All episodes Click the OK button. Playing the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast Audio in itunes 11 To play the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast in itunes, simply double-click on the file of choice to hear it. Alternatively, you may highlight the hour of choice by clicking on it once and then clicking the Play arrow button 1 to the right of the name of the podcast in the main library pane. Note: If you do not hear any audio, be sure the volume bar in itunes 11 is positioned to the right 2. Also, verify that your computer system s volume is up and speakers are on.

5 Syncing the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast to your ipod, iphone or ipad Attach your ipod, ipod Touch, iphone or ipad to your computer using your USB cable. Click your device s icon in the upper right side of the window 1.

6 Click the Podcasts tab 1 at the top of the main window. Checkmark Sync Podcasts 2. itunes 11 will default to automatically include All Unplayed episodes of All Podcasts. Change this setting to include All episodes of Selected Podcasts. (Note: You can also take this opportunity to customize this setting as you wish.) Checkmark BOB&TOM VIP Podcast 3. This will select all downloaded hours of the podcast. Click Apply 4 in the bottom right hand corner of the main window. This will automatically sync these files to your ios device. Note: After this has been set up the first time, attaching your ipod to your computer will automatically sync all new downloads. Repeat the above step if the ipod is already attached to your computer. When ready to detach the ipod for listening, click the Eject 5 icon next to your device s name in the upper left corner. Note: For more information on syncing your ipod, iphone or ipad, go to Playing the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast on your ipod, iphone or ipad To playback the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast audio on your ipod, navigate to: Podcasts BOB&TOM VIP Podcast (Podcast Hours) Scroll to the hour of your choice and then click the center button to begin playback. To playback the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast audio on your ipod Touch, iphone or ipad, navigate to: Podcasts BOB&TOM VIP Podcast (Podcast Hours) Tap the hour of your choice for playback.

7 Frequently Asked Questions * Listing order of the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast In the List view, you can control the way itunes categorizes the order of your items by Release Date, either oldest first or newest first. Do this by clicking the Release Date tab at the top of the itunes Podcast category. Within the ipod, the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast is listed only in chronological order by date and hour, most recent first. You can create your own playlist in itunes and arrange them in the order you wish to hear the show and then sync to your ipod. Note: In the ipod, after you have completed playback of any given hour in the Podcast category, the ipod will take you back to the main Podcast menu. This is normal. Note: For more details on creating a playlist within itunes 11, go to: * No New Podcasts Downloading If you have not accessed the BOB&TOM VIP Podcast in itunes for more than 5 days, itunes will stop automatically downloading the podcast.
