1 Page 1 KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY The Resource Officer is responsible for: Scheduling and rostering of Support Workers across all services; The appropriate matching of Support Workers to clients and families; The efficient utilisation of Support Workers across the service. 2 Page 2 1. UNDERSTANDING THE SERVICE 1.1 Communicate with staff, clients and families to understand the needs of clients. Ensure our clients are supported with Support Workers who match their interests and skills. 2. SERVICE DELIVERY 2.1 Schedule and roster Support Workers 2.2 Support the development and maintenance of rosters which ensure continuous quality support to clients. 2.3 Support the efficient utilisation of Support Workers across all services. 2.4 Assist in managing back up support and services at short notice as required. 2.5 Ensure the appropriate matching of Support Workers to clients including matching the interests and skills of Support Workers with the needs of clients. 2.6 Ensure the payroll authorisations for Support Workers are in accordance with their rosters. 2.7 Manage rosters to ensure overtime worked by Support Workers is minimal, except in emergencies. 3. RECRUITMENT 3.1 Provide support in the recruitment process and assist in the interview and selection of new employees as required. 3.2 Ensure new employees have attended compulsory induction training prior to arranging buddy shifts. 3.3 Identify future workforce requirements as required.

BUDGETS 4.1 Work with Support Workers, Regional Area Supervisors and Finance to ensure resources are being used as effectively and efficiently as possible with particular regards to the utilisation of Support Workers. 5. OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH 5.1 Comply with employee's duties under Section 20 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 as follows: comply with instructions given by the General Manager for your own safety and health and that of other persons; use protective clothing and equipment as provided by employer and according to instructions; not misuse or damage any equipment provided in the interest of safety and health; report any hazards to your Manager; immediately report accidents / incidents to the General Manager; follow documented safe work practices; and assist the employer in meeting their duties under section 21 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act as below. 5.2 Comply with employee's duties under Section 21 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 as follows: An employer shall, so far as is practicable, ensure that the safety or health of a person, not being (in the case of an employer) an employee of the employer, is not adversely affected wholly or in part as a result of work that has been or is being undertaken by the employer or any employee of the employer; or any hazard that arises from or is increased by the work referred to; or the system of work that has been or is being operated by the employer.

GENERAL 6.1 Perform other duties as directed within the limits of your skills and competence; 6.2 Participate in public relations or marketing activities relating to your area of expertise/employment as required; 6.3 Work within the Policies and Procedures of Senses Australia; 6.4 Unless otherwise authorised, keep confidential information confidential to Senses Australia whether during employment or after your employment ceases; 6.5 Dress in a manner which enables the execution of all duties and presents Senses Australia to the community in the best manner; 6.6 Dress in a manner which enables the face to be fully exposed for full facial expression and communication.
