1 BMHS Spring Show - Saturday 2 nd April 2016 CLASSES & CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR REGISTERED & UNREGISTERED HORSES, DAY MEMBERSHIP AVAILABLE AT A COST OF 5.00 INCORPORATING QUALIFYING CLASSES FOR THE STAR SEEKER OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS Stretcholt Equestrian Centre, Stretcholt, Bridgewater, Somerset TA6 4SR Show Secretaries - Pauline Brown & Debbie Miller Affiliated to the British Miniature Horse Society and run under BMHS Show Rules All horses must be registered for showing with the BMHS except in classes 1 to 11. Owners and Handlers entering horses in classes 12 to 17 must be paid up showing members of the British Miniature Horse Society. All horses to be measured prior to start of classes. Height Limits for all classes are as follows: Mini (Small) Midi (Standard) Maxi 4 years old and over 82 cms 87 cms cms 3 years old 81 cms 86 cms cms 2 years old 79 cms 84 cms cms 1 year old 77 cms 82 cms cms ASSESSMENT 9am 11 am Horses being put forward for assessment must have been pre-entered and be presented to the panel of judges in Ring 2. Entries must be received in the office by the 26 th March 2016 Please contact the office for details and costs. JUDGE CLASS 1 Condition and turnout To be judged on condition, and the turnout of horse and handler Please present yourself to the judge in Ring 2 between & 12.00am Entry Fee 8.00 The following classes will start not before 10am in Ring 1 and will follow on JUDGE: Mr Richard Grace Classes 2-11 are open to registered and un-registered horse not exceeding 92 cm. To be eligible to compete in the Open Star Seeker Classes (5 to 7), horses must not have been placed 1 st 5 th at the Horse of the Year Show or 1st 2 nd at the Royal International Horse Show. These classes are open to all Miniature horses regardless of registration, and owners and handlers do not need to be members of the BMHS. The winners in each of the Star Seeker classes together with the highest placed un-registered horse in each of the three classes will qualify for the Championship classes at the BMHS Breed Show on the 3rd September 2016, provided that the owner and handler of the horse becomes a member of the BMHS within 28 days of the show. The winners of the three sections for un-registered horses at the Breed Show, together with the overall Champion at the Breed Show will, subject to vetting, be eligible for the BMHS Stud Book and will qualify for the RIHS 2017 in its appropriate class. Horses will not be measured on the day but will be measured when attending the Championship classes at the BMHS Breed show. All horses put forward for the Championship must be under the BMHS maxi height of 92 cms and only those confirming to BMHS standard height of 87 cms are eligible for registration onto the Stud Book and eligible to compete at the Royal International Horse Show 2017.

3 Ring JUDGE: Class 11 NEW for 2016! The BMHS FREESTYLE SHOW CLASS. Garland to winner and rosettes to 6 th place kindly sponsored by Maxine and Claudia Foulkes of Dragonara Miniatures Do you have a great relationship with your horse? Is your horse well behaved and obedient? Does he/she react well to your body language or your voice? Then this is the class for you. You will have two minutes to demonstrate how horse and handler can work in harmony with each other. Your freestyle show is one entirely of your own choice, The judge will not be requiring the usual show ring show. Circus or trick type presentations will be penalised. Each competitor and their horse will be judged individually- entering the ring one at a time. The judge will be looking for a partnership that demonstrates total control and harmony between horse and handler. The conformation of the horse will not be judged. Your show MUST NOT exceed 2 minutes and the horse is to be shown on a lead. (Music NOT required) Open to handlers of any age exhibiting horses of any age or height. Introductory entry fee - 5 (Entries limited to the first 10 received) Class 12 Ring 1 starting not before 2pm JUDGE Mr Peter Thomas The following classes are qualifying classes for the Royal International Horse Show The 1st and 2 nd prize winners from classes 12 to 17 will qualify, or if already qualified the highest place to fourth place only, will qualify for The Royal International Horse Show Classes are ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW 2016 qualifiers. 4 First and second prize winners from classes 12 to 17 qualify to compete for the Championship. The Champion qualifies for the Supreme Champion of Champions class at the BMHS International Breed Show Veteran Horses (exceeding 10 years) placed in the top 4 in Classes 5-7, 9 & 10 & & 17 will qualify for the Veteran Championship to be held at the BMHS Breed Show in September. This show is a qualifier for the 15+ Horse & Pony Events To qualify for the 2016 National Supreme Showing Championship Show on Sunday 21 st August 2016 at Equifest, Peterborough the 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd highest placed 15+ miniature horse in classes 5, 6 & 7, 9 & 10, 12, 13, 14 & 17 will each qualify. To enter the National Supreme Showing Championship Show the rider/handler and horse/pony must register with 15+ within 14 days of the qualifying show date. 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd highest placed in each of the above nine classes will also qualify to compete at the 15+ SW Showing Championships at Tall Trees Arena, Cornwall on September 24 th 2016.Further information concerning this exciting organisation and what it can offer for the older equine please contact 15+ Horse & Pony Events Horse15plus@aol.com Please note anyone eligible for any special rosette in any class must wear a white armband. All competitors compete at their own risk and must ensure the safety of themselves, their horses and vehicles. No dogs allowed in the stable area or indoor school.
