Pneumatic tyres specifically designed for carriages (ie. not car tyres) permitted. Turnouts should carry appropriate spares that may be required whilst out driving. To be judged on general cleanliness, safety of turnout, correct fitting of harness, vehicle suitability, driver and groom, horse or pony, way of going. Competitors will be required to demonstrate the obedience and flexibility of the turnout by, for example, driving between cones, and the horse s or pony s manners and ability at halt, walk, trot and rein back This class is not intended for those who show in private driving classes. 8 QUALIFIERS OSBORNE REFRIGERATORS QUALIFIERS Classes 5, 6, 10, 11 and 13 are qualifiers for the 2016 Osborne Refrigerators BDS National Championships at Driving Addington on 24th September The highest placed turnout owned and driven by a member of the British Driving Society and eligible for the Type-Section(s) listed, disregarding those already qualified down to 6th place (10th place for typesections (n) (q)) in the class will qualify for the 2016 Semi-Finals at Driving Addington. The Championship will immediately follow the Semi- Finals. VICTORIA FOOD COMPANY QUALIFIERS Classes 6, 7 and 13 are qualifiers for the Victoria Food Company Championships In each class the winner will qualify for the grand final to be held on Sunday 11th September 2016 at The Kings Sedgemoor Equestrian Centre, Greylake, Near Bridgwater, Somerset, TA7 9BP. In the event that the winner has already qualified then the second in the class to qualify. If the second has also qualified, the rosette to be awarded to the winner. Once qualified, the horse, whip and vehicle may not be changed. DRIVERS DREAM STYLE & PERFORMANCE QUALIFIERS Class 9 is a qualifier for the Drivers Dream Style & Performance 2016 Supreme Championships. The highest placed Traditional turnout and the highest placed Non-Traditional turnout, that have not already done so, will qualify for the Supreme Championships at Drivers Dream to be held in Bedfordshire on Saturday 17th September POSTPONEMENT / CANCELLATION Only in exceptional circumstances will this show be postponed or cancelled. If it is necessary as much notice as possible will be given on the Area website and the Show Secretary will contact all competitors who have entered to date. 9 RULES 1. All horses and ponies attending this show must be 4 years old or over 2. The Judge s decision is final 3. Show officials and stewards must be obeyed at all times 4. All entrants and whips must be current members of the British Driving Society and membership numbers to be provided on your entry form 5. This event will be run in accordance with British Driving Society safety rules. All participants to adhere to these rules 6. Young Drivers The driver must be 10 years of age or over on the day of the show. A driver under the age of 18 must be accompanied in the vehicle by a competent and responsible person aged 18 years or over, a responsible adult 7. Drivers, grooms and passengers under the age of 14 years must wear a correctly fitted hard hat whilst on any horse drawn vehicle and this includes grooms who have dismounted to assist with the horse(s) 8. The organisers reserve the right to omit, divide or amalgamate any class, vary the order of classes and times, refuse entry, withhold a prize, cancel the show or disqualify a competitor at their discretion 9. In the event of the show being cancelled entry fees received to date will be returned 10. No entry fees will be refunded if an entrant withdraws unless supported by a Vet s or Doctor s Certificate 11. Please park as directed by the stewards 12. Riders must wear hard hats to the approved standard 13. All dogs must be kept on leads at all times 14. Please do not muck out your horsebox on to the show ground. These fields are used for other public events and animal grazing 15. Please take all litter home with you 16. All trophies are perpetual and must be signed for and collected from the Show Secretary and returned as agreed 17. No liability whatsoever is accepted by the British Driving Society, the landowner or the organisers for any damage to persons or property of or associated with any participant or spectator at this event 18. Entries are accepted on the understanding that competitors have read and accepted these show rules

10 Turnpike Showground Motcombe Dorset SP7 9PL South of the A303 between Gillingham and Shaftesbury Turn off the B3081 at the Turnpike Kennels and Cattery into Motcombe Road The Show will be right off Motcombe Road as signposted NB: If travelling from the A303 on the A350 towards Shaftesbury DO NOT take the right hand turning signposted to Motcombe before Shaftesbury, as this is very narrow and hilly, but rather continue into Shaftesbury and at the roundabout (with filling station on left) take the B3081 towards Gillingham At the Turnpike Kennels and Cattery turn right into Motcombe Road GRATEFUL THANKS This show is only possible thanks to all the generosity and hard work of our host, sponsors, judges, stewards, caterers, photographer, many other helpers and, of course, the support of the spectators and competitors.
