These activities have icluded several areas, such as museum objects, archaeological ad evirometally importat sites, music ad audio-visual archives, bibliographic materials, s ad mauscripts. The mai challeges are ow promotig the uptake of ew techologies for the digitisatio of cultural ad scietific cotet, esurig lastig accessibility ad preservatio, the developmet of ew services ad job opportuities. Other importat objectives iclude stregtheig the Europea cotet idustry ad stroger support for its co-operatio with educatioal commuities, with cosequet mobilisatio of material ad immaterial resources. The Natioal Represetatives Group o digitisatio of cultural ad scietific heritage has supported all Europea coutries i settig ad explaiig policies, defiig the scope ad structurig of this field ad the Mierva project aims at providig commo tools to support those policies. Policies eed idicators ad scoreboards as decisio-makig tools, which ca help set the priorities for digitisatio, evaluate the progress, impact ad results of the frameworks implemeted i each coutry. I order to facilitate the structurig ad the maagemet of the digitisatio activity ad to facilitate digital resource discovery, atioal ivetories of digitisatio projects ad digitised collectios have bee set up i various coutries.
