2 Structure and Methodology This report has been entitled Connected and 3D TV sets in Latin America and it was drawn up in July The Report analyzes the TV set market in the seven main Latin American markets: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela. This report is made up of six chapters. The first chapter offers an outlook on the TV set market, including Flat Screen TV annual sales and accrued devices for period. The second chapter analyzes Connected TV set offers of the four main manufacturers -Sony, LG, Samsung and Panasonic- in the seven analyzed countries. Information regarding offer -by model, size and type of screen- has been gathered from the four brands web pages in each of the analyzed countries. The so-called Content for Connected TV sets chapter analyzes International and Local content offers, according to the information gathered from web pages and media. The fourth chapter, Challenges in the development of Connected TV sets in Latin America, offers Connected TV set sales forecasts for the period, and percentages of Connected TV sets over total flat screen TVs in said analyzed markets. The last two chapters of this report have been assigned to 3D TV, and they include 3D TV sets offers in the analyzed markets, according to information gathered from the four already mentioned manufacturers web pages. Likewise, a description of 3D contents in the region as of this report closing has been included. The so-called Conclusions on 3D TV offers figures on 3D TV set sales and 3D TV set penetration rates over Flat Screen TVs. Figures for Connected and 3D TV sets, as well as information regarding the number of operational devices included in this report, have been gathered from public sources for period. Upon the unavailability of said figures, Dataxis utilized its own methods to calculate them. Likewise, figures for Connected and 3D TV sets, as well as the number of devices accrued in the market for period were forecasted by Dataxis utilizing its own methods. Such forecasts were made in July 2012 and differ from those offered in previous years and perhaps from those to be offered in the future.
