Radix Elementary 363 Radix Road Williamstown NJ Friday, October 7, Outdoor Movie Night: The Radix PTA will sponsor a Radix Outdoor Movie Night at 7:00 P.M. Movie to be viewed will be Zootopia. (Weather permitting) Tuesday, October 11, Fire Safety Presentations: Volunteers from the Monroe Township Fire Department will present fire safety programs for children in grades preschool through fourth. During Fire Prevention Week, you may want to consider reviewing home fire safety with your children. Phone: Fax: Monday, October 17, 2016: PTA Fall Fundraiser Starts! Thursday, October 20, 2016: PTA R.E.A.L. BOOK Distribution will take place during school hours. Students are encouraged to bring a nonperishable item to exchange for a new book. Tuesday, October 25, PTA Meeting: Our PTA meeting will be held at 7:00 P.M. in Radix's Media Center. We re on the Web! See us at: Tuesday and Wednesday, October 25 & 26, School Pictures: The school photographer, Sunday and Associates will visit Radix to take individual and class pictures. *Please see last page for picture dates and times for your child's class. Friday, October 28, PTA Halloween Family Fun Night: The PTA will sponsor this fun-filled evening in the Radix all-purpose room from 7:00-9:00 P.M.
2 Page 2 of 7 Monday, October 31, HALF-DAY: The schedule for children in grades 1-4 will be 8:55 A.M. - 1:20 P.M. Half-Day Schedule for A.M. AND P.M. Kindergarten and Preschool is 8:55 A.M. 11:25 A.M. *From the Transportation Department: Early in October, PM kindergarten parents will be given pick up times by the bus driver for half days. Parents should keep this information, as it will be used throughout the school year. Monday, October 31, Halloween Parade: (Weather Permitting) The PTA will sponsor a Halloween Parade for all children on the blacktop beginning at 9:15 A.M. (Parents are welcome to visit the blacktop area for viewing.) It is recommended that parents are present at 9:15 A.M. The parade moves swiftly. 1st: Grade 4 2nd: A.M. and P.M. Preschool and Kindergarten 3rd: Grade 2 4th: Grade 1 5th: Grade 3 Costume guidelines: (We are encouraging parents to select costumes that are appropriate for elementary school children. Fake guns, knives, pitchforks, etc. are not permitted. Your child will not be able to participate in the parade if his/her costume includes a non-permitted item.) Daily lunches and Grab and Go Breakfast are currently under way at Radix Elementary. You can find information on the new Pay For It system on the following page. Prices are as follows: Pricing for 2016/2017 School Year Elementary Breakfast Full Pay- $ 1.45 Reduced- $.30 Free- No Cost Elementary Lunch- Full Pay - $ 2.75 Reduced- $.40 Free- No Cost Adult Meal: $4.10

This way, when an article is left behind, we can be sure to return it to the proper child. Student Drop Off Parent Reminder All pupils who walk to school or are transported by car should arrive between 8:40 and 8:50 a.m. Parents, of students in Grades 1-4, who are transporting their child/children to and from school by car are to use the rear entrance of the school. A sign indicating Deliveries/Student Car Riders designates the road that will take you directly to the proper exit. The side parking lot is strictly for parents dropping off Preschool or Kindergarten students who do not ride a bus.

6 Page 6 of 7 From Mrs. Cunningham: Radix Student Council Elections: Starting in the month of September our 3 rd and 4 th graders were informed about the Radix Student Council and how a to be a part of the organization. Those 4 th grade students interested in running for executive office; President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, completed applications and wrote speeches for their chosen position. Officer speeches and elections were held on Thursday, September 29 th. Class representatives will be elected on October 10 th. Good luck to all the candidates who run for Student Council.
