2 COURSE OBJECTIVES This two-day regional symposium features engaging speakers who are experts in their fields of practice, and is intended for nurses who work in both critical care and progressive care. The attendee will take away a better understanding of current trends in critical care and progressive care nursing. Attendees will also learn some strategies to assist in dealing with conflicts in caring for patients and families during end-of-life care. By the end of this two-day seminar, the participant will be able to: 1. Have an increased understanding of pulmonary management. 2. Describe methods of diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of acute kidney injury. 3. Identify indications for therapeutic hypothermia. 4. Review updated guidelines for sepsis management. 5. Discuss common issues in the care of patients with end-stage liver disease. 6. Distinguish symptoms of delirium from pain and agitation. 7. Identify new treatments for aortic stenosis (TAVR).
